This was enjoyable to watch. I also own two Muranos and I take good care of them

My Nissan Altima just had similar problems, code 1217 but now it has trouble starting, I will do a video on it as well

did you figure out why your car is not starting? i have that code too but the car will not start it just turns over.

mine is a 2014 Altima, getting same code. Runs and starts fine, air and heat both work but car overheats when i run the heat

I love the nissan murano its so enjoyable to drive

It’s definitely roomy and versatile. The only major gripe I had was interior dashboard melting and cracking on me that’s hard to repair.

Same thing happened to me, just last night. My car won’t start and starts shaking really bad

You are leaking coolant? If so don’t drive it until you get it fixed. Overheating engine can kill it. If you have other problems, are you getting any check engine code?
@seapotatoes7260 Жыл бұрын
You probably got it sorted by now but my aunt's car did the same thing, overheated then threw the check engine light and started violently surging. I really thought she blew the engine lol I let it cool off but only after I cleared the codes with a scan tool did it stop surging. I think it may be was in some sort of low power mode... I'm replacing the radiator (for a leak) and the thermostat to hopefully clear up the overheating issue.

did u figure out the dangking small hose?
@DIYLifeSkills2 жыл бұрын
Nope but I saw it on another Murano repair video that had the same hose dangling like mine. So it must be by design. LOL

Breather hose for something. Likely transmission. I don't know for sure, but it's common to have, and in the right area. It's designed to allow the transmission to breathe, while not losing fluid. It should be open like that.

If it gets hot, would putting the heat on help?
@DIYLifeSkills Жыл бұрын
Probably not. My engine overheated because hose came out and leaked coolant. Without sufficient coolant, the engine can’t be cooled. Another common way is if thermostat or water pump goes bad and doesn’t let coolant circulate to cool the engine. It doesn’t take too long to kill the engine if you drive during overheated condition so this has to be fixed right away.

Yes, I meant immediately just to get it to safety/repair

it def can help it cool off faster.

Next time run your heat on max speed it makes it coop off better❤

I can see how that can help some to relieve engine temperature, but running low on coolant will not overcome overheating so it’s best to not to drive to avoid losing the engine.

I just bought a 09 Murano and replaced the Accelerator pedal sensor and got no results. (I was told it was the accelerator pedal sensor) It doesn't rev up. Is this the limp mode low tranny fluid? I didn't check it. I did hear a loud whining when 1st started, I thought it was the pw steering pump.

I find that alternator wiring melts prematurely on this car. And often, it’ll show up as failing alternator but it’s really the melting wire that needs to be replaced.
@DIYLifeSkills5 ай бұрын
The biggest weakness of this and other Nissan cars are their CVT transmission. And those that carry a lot of heavy load or punch gas pedal frequently, they are going to see trans failure. But if you find one and know that previous owners didn’t abuse the car and have good record on trans fluid changes, then you might be able to prolong the trans life.

turn on heat in car to remove heat while u drive

Good to know. Good thing I was very close to home as the check engine came on.

Thermostat?
@DIYLifeSkills Жыл бұрын
Thermostat is what’s allowing or blocking coolant from cooling the engine. When engine first starts, it’s cool, so thermostat is closed but once engine warms up to operating temperature (usually around 190f degrees, thermostat opens so that coolant can circulate through the engine to cool it. If coolant level is low, or broken thermostat or water pump is not circulating the coolant through engine, then engine can overheat and literally destroy itself within minutes of driving. Do not drive in this condition and have it serviced immediately. It could be simply low on coolant.
