@@Squatch76 still fine, power steering pump died and was a nightmare to change. Another issue I ran into is it likes to flood when it gets below 0c. I assume it's a leaky injector seal. But if you put the gas pedal to the floor while starting, it turns off the injectors and clears the flooded cylinder while cranking. Then starts up like normal. I wish I would have known that trick when it first started doing that.

My mother in law purchased a 2021 murano. Around 6 months later the seatbelts started to have serious complications hooking. Not to mention it stuttered and completely shut off when starting to cross a rural bridge like it was in shock (I guess it had to get its bearings to cross it because I couldn't start it up for a good minute.) I'm thinking it wasn't programmed for that situation because Google maps didn't know the location very well(?). Also, it will brake unnecessarily sometimes, especially if someone in the lane next to you turns on their signal light to turn opposite of you. On top of that, when my dog lays his head down close to the shifter, it moves it from drive, usually into 2nd gear, while I'm driving (I drive it the most since my mother in law is up in age, yet she just had to have a new car. She had a great one, old, but low miles she sold cheap to someone in the family for their daughter, well, the daughter checked the oil about as good as my husband does so the low mileage engine didn't make it.) I could probably go on. I personally would've done something by now but, you'd have to know my husband and mother in law 😳😂

I have a 2007 Nissan Murano SL AWD with 150k miles. I bought it 1 year ago for $5k and I’ve already put $4k into it in repairs (car drove amazing when I first bought it). It’s in the shop right now for the 2nd time within 2 weeks for the transmission. I find out in a few days if the transmission is done for good or not. ANYWAY, for close to a year, I’ve been hearing this strange almost grinding noise where my left front wheel area is. Specifically when I’m going slow and or turning into a parking spot/drive through. I was told by multiple shops there’s nothing wrong with it with the car. The grinding and crazy noises have been getting worse, and happening at all times when I was driving. the worst was today and sounded like the car was about to fall apart so I took it in right away. Well, this whole time I’ve been thinking it’s the wheel area but it’s actually the transmission making these crazy sounds, mimicking noises that was almost similar to a bad wheel bearing or something similar in that area. Definitely wasn’t expecting them to say it’s the transmission at all. Just putting that out there for anyone that may be experiencing this and not getting answers/being told the car is fine. Because all this time, the transmission has gotten worse for a year straight when it could’ve been fixed before it got this bad. I hope maybe this will help someone since I’m now in a bad situation with the car

@robc73233 жыл бұрын
I have an 07 Murano with ~175k miles and it has been an "OK" car... not great.. just OK. I had to put a new power steering hose on recently (common problem with certain years), change the oil cooler gasket (another common problem but easy fix), change a couple of those fluid filled motor mounts (a royal pain), replace a couple of ignition coils, and repeatedly snake out my sunroof drains to prevent it from leaking inside the car (PITA to access exit side of drain). The plugs are also a bear since you have to take off the intake manifold to access the back 3 in the transverse V6 but only have to change every 100k-ish. I have also had a couple of drain and fills on the CVT since I got it used ~2012. It survived a regular 75-90 minute commute (one way) for several years in the bay area without stranding me. Fortunately, I have been able to complete the repair/maintenance work myself. If it makes it to 200k with the CVT intact I will be satisfied. I have always been paranoid about the crappy CVT so I am gentle on the accelerator. It is a FWD and I did notice it was made in Japan so maybe that helps? I am not sure where the newer ones are made/assembled. Like Scotty said, just don't pay too much.

CVT WARRANTY EXTENDED .. In Dec 2021, I bought a fully loaded 2018 Rogue SL (manufactured in Japan) with 22,000 miles. Now 7,000 miles put on it and no reliability issues. The original drive train warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles which of course includes the CVT. However in Feb 2023, Nissan sent me a letter that the CVT warranty was extended to 7 years/84,000 miles to "… address concerns … expressed by plaintiffs in class action litigation". Now I feel much better about the purchase.

Scotty I really like this video, but 90% of those codes are likely set because the battery died at some point. Clear codes and see what comes back, also Fluid Pressure Low code in the TCM means the CVT is about to take a dump. If you go into Data Monitor for the TCM and monitor CVT-A and CVT-B it should always be 0, CVT-A/B is NOT 0 then there has been either overheated fluid or internal damage to the CVT.

Scotty, you might think about possibly partnering with someone and writing a quality book on the use of your ‘fancy’ diagnostic scan tool. Or writing one yourself. With your 50+ years of experience and your communication skills, you might be able to make a go of it. I’ve looked around and can’t seem to find one, so maybe the field is open. You could contact a publisher and test the waters. They might be able to suggest an experienced writer to assist. After it is written, you could tell everyone about it and really get a jump on everyone else.

I have a 2005 Nissan Murano SL that I purchased in 2009 in S.F. California with 36Kmiles. I still owned this beautiful speed racer at 145,000 miles and runs smoothly. You barely hear the engine from the inside - runs like an electric car. This Murano is the best rollover rated SUV!!! with standard roof-mounted curtain airbags. I would love to drive it to Scotty's shop for a full check up, maintenance.

Dealing with our 2005 Murano AWD SL model, the A/C doesn't work, rust on the rear wheel wells, oil leaks with these VQ35DE engines, and I had to drill several holes in the back to get some nuts to hold the striker in place for the rear door. Oh, and the exhaust pipe assembly is completely separated from the rest of the pipe in the back so it needs a whole new exhaust system with new catalytic converters. (The cats are notorious for getting plugged up)
