I gotta replace the same front pipe !! I was replacing my upper and lower radiator hoses and broke the nipple from the front cross over pipe that connects to the first breather you pulled off. Thank you so much !!

I hadd this failure on my a7 and I gotta take the whole damn engine apart. what a pain in the ass! looks like you managed to do it without removing your super charger. still watching. thanks for the video of the procedure! this is a 3.2 isn't it. the intake is smaller than the supercharger on the 3.0. i don't think i can get around it.

I have the same car and doing the same job. One of the four torx screws stripped. Do you have any recommendations on how to take out the screw without removing the whole front end?

My husband and I replaced this crossover hose. It was not that hard and didn't have to take off the pulley. The only trouble we had was with the upper and lower radiator hoses .😂
@theshoptopauto2 жыл бұрын
I don't see there being a way to remove this pipe without removing the pulley. Unless you remove the intake manifold and refused back the thermostat hose as well as the lower hose that goes to the oil cooler. Most likely you also has the front end of the vehicle apart. This video was to show people how to replace that cross over pipe with front end in place and not having to remove anything else. Thank you for watching and commenting 😀
@ireneysepulveda8502 жыл бұрын
We followed your video... but we should not have removed the left lower radiator hose because we didn't change the flange.😧. But yes we didn't pull anything forward ..there is plenty of room to work with like you said...you just have to play with the crossover pipe to work in to place.
@ireneysepulveda8502 жыл бұрын
You made it look so easy to clamp on those radiator hoses back in place. Can you tell me how many seals the upper radiator hose has? I can see one o rind in the radiator hose...but is there supposed to be another one that goes on the new crossover pipe?
@theshoptopauto2 жыл бұрын
@@ireneysepulveda850 thats awesome, maybe next time I'll try that 😄
@theshoptopauto2 жыл бұрын
@@ireneysepulveda850 there is only 1 o-ring that sits in the hose it's self. Make sure to lube the area where the hose goes onto so it clips in easier.

The piece right above the coolant pipe next to the front of the car is something I can’t find, not in the repair manual or online. Would you happen to know what it’s called? It’s like circle and has “Germany” on it with a bunch of numbers. It’s leaking on my A5
@theshoptopauto Жыл бұрын
Those numbers are possibly the part #. Google is your best friend in this instance. I'm not sure which part you are talking about to be honest lol Maybe the line that goes to the coolant reservoir?
@Winginit-Daily Жыл бұрын
The thermostat housings leak usually too? Cant tell if mines just the hose, the therm housing, and the cross pipe. Or all the above lmao.

How did you discover the flange leak? Im looking into the "Engine Coolant Outlet Flange" as my issue, as I already replaced thermostat and leak appears to be in the area of the flange. Leaks can be seen dripping around and down backside of alternator. Thinking of torquing bolts on flange first, to see if that resolves it. Thanks
@rlljr1030829 ай бұрын
It was the coolant hose flange, defective part. Bought another one installing g this weekend.

Why does the crossover pipe interfere with the belt? What moves or gets out of place? And how much do you charge for this job? Thanks!
@theshoptopauto3 жыл бұрын
The pipe is plastic . So overtime the entire pipe expands . The pipe is already close as it is. This job can get expensive. $400+

@@theshoptopauto I see. And that's $400+ in only labor or labor and parts?
