You can do the resistance test before removing the solenoid to avoid the extra work in the case that it passes the test.

Great video but what is the ohm range for these actuators? And which one is A & B? Mins says A is not working...

Between 8 to 12 ohms. If one is bad it's best to replace both, since the new one might not work in tandem with the old one due to different manufacturers.

I can see the brown sealing gasket poking out a bit but I can’t get it down any further

Try turning the solenoid left and right as you put it back in.
