2009 Ford Ranger // 4x4 stuck on and how to fix it

4WD switch to 2H is take longer and sometimes stuck on. Replace 4x4 Control module to fix it and don’t need to reprogram it

how do you know if it is the control module or something else? sometimes mine stays in 4x4 high even when i turn the knob back to 2x. generally after playing with it and driving back and forth i can get it back, but sometimes i have to drive for a bit before the 4x4 light turns off. could it be anything besides the control module? this looks easy enough, but i'd rather not buy a new control module unless i know for sure it's that.

Your vehicle has the same symptom with this one. Beside the module is the T-case shift motor. On this vehicle it has a code that lead to the control module not the motor and the owner did his own diagnose and supply the module
