I have a rust spot on the floor in the exact same spot as you, as its a common area to rust on these Accents, same with rear quarter panels and rockers, and rear beam axle mounting area ( like Yaris ).

I have the exact same car. That plastic mount for the power steering lines would not wiggle off. Had to pry off with a flat head screw driver. Thanks for the video it was helpful.

Hi, is this expensive at a mechanics? My dad has been my mechanic for years but he’s in Mexico til next Sunday. Wondering if it’s worth going to them vs waiting a week for dad. I have a 2008 accent. Rpm jumping when idle. We changed the spark plugs in Dec and i bought the ignition coil wire but I never installed it. Just trying to diagnose my car issues before school starts.

Hello there, so one could expect to pay between $150-250 per mount. Bouncing idle is not generally an issue with motor mounts. Bad mounts will cause hard shifts when driving. If the idle is jumping when sitting still then it sounds like a possible air leak. Like maybe the air intake hose is not secured properly. I won't say that the mounts aren't the problem, but they are less likely to be the issue with the idle. I hope you can get it fixed without too much trouble.

I just did the same rear tranny mount on my 2009 Hyundai Accent. I only need to remove the heat shield. No need to remove plastic clips. The mount comes out and goes on easily on the passanger side; just a slight wiggling with plenty of room. However, mine is a manual transmission; not sure if that makes a difference.

Nice, sounds like yours is a bit easier in regards to not having to remove extra bits. There is a casing difference between manual and auto, so that's why I believe there is a need for the extra step.

Why are you changing the motor mount when the car is actively leaking transmission fluid

The mount was replaced so the vehicle would pass state safety inspection. The transmission ended up being replaced a few months down the road.

Where did you jack up the car from It wasn't clear in the intro

First I jacked it up using the lower crossmember below the radiator and set the jackstands. After the jackstands were placed I removed the jack to use it for the engine.

Would this be the same for a 2009 Kia Rio 5 auto ? It has the 1.6L. Did you only Jack up one side? Also I think there are 4 total mounts? Are any of them real hard to get to?

Not sure if it is the same, but the platforms can't be that much different. I would expect they are very similar if not the same. None are difficult to get to. For the ones underneath the vehicle I just jacked up both sides and put jackstands under the car. Then use jack to support engine. I hope that helps and I wish you all the best with your project.
