It looks fantastic, the only downside to some Porsche models is the sound. For me, the Cayman is the best choice. It looks great, is fast, powerful, still classy and sounds amazing in real life.

People who buy porsche do not care about soft ride or noise in the cabin, if you are looking for that buy a Mercedes s class. The 911 is a driver vehicle and a joy to drive.

My dad has the Carrera 4S its kinda like a silver color its a beast! It is crazy fast and goes around curves like its glued to the road. If you can afford one its woth it!

Def jerky (especially with Carbon fiber sport seats and low profile tires) but nonetheless an amazing car. I think the 997.2 is porsche's best car

@AlumarsX Personally, I think it looks better than the 911. As for its potential as a car, I think it is perfect the way it is. The Cayman was not built for straight line speed, but rather handling. With its low curb-weight and fantastic chassis, the Cayman is arguably the best handling car on the market. Power and performance shouldn't matter unless you are insecure and have to hide behind your car's statistics. Why else do you think the Mazda Miata is the best selling roadster in history?

@marshknute I agree the Cayman is the better choice, but it doesn't look as good and it's not the car it could be. Porsche can make the Cayman a lot better.

@impactintact101 first of all, PDK on an Audi? and secondly, the TT RS can't be thought of in the same bracket as a 911 C4S because the 911 is much more desireable........oh, and the TT RS cannot do 0-60 in 3.9 regardless of its transmission, the fastest I have seen it tested at is 4.4 seconds.

That is a good question. I believe that they might drop to the low thirties, maybe high twenties in the next five years. Being such a pure machine with the german quality build, I cannot see the 996 or 997 being valued under 25k for the next 8 years. That is my opinion and this will be my first Porsche also. What is your thoughts?

A 2009 C4S for $38,000 how many miles? What's wrong with it? That's a $55.000 car all day long! There isn't a Porsche C4S any year selling for high $20's Maybe, with 100+K on the clock. I think your price projections are off. A 996 C4S is bring $40K with reasonable mileage.

you cannot compare a BMW M3 to this. the beemer is a 4 seater salloon.... I f you have ever driven a 911 you will understand the quality engineering, the steering is so precise.... BMW (Big Money Wasted) the 911 with hold its value far more. bont get me wrong the M3 is a well engineered car but different league to 911.

Save your money and buy a Cayman S. Despite being the mid-range model, it is more nimble than all of the 911's. Also, don't get the PDK transmission: real drivers get manual gearboxes.

Nice Video, but Steve you really were subjective when you mentioned ride comfort and luxury were low on the priority list. You're dead wrong. Porsche is the most user friendly driver experience in a exotic car. Trust me, I've rode in one. I would rather have a stiff ride than one that is wobbly and doesn't fit the nature of the car.
