Thanks a lot, it really helped me do my first oil change on my car instead of paying thru the roof at the Porsche dealership.

I bought two of those heavy plastic ramps...i just reverse up them and slide under.Its level enough.Never a problem draining old oil.👍

I’m glad to hear you’re using the new plastic rams and not the old metal ramps. I hope the video helped you out a little. It’s much easier than we think and way way way cheaper than at Porsche. 😝

I believe there no IMS in the 2009 boxer so should be a clean filter every time.
@hinemnsprojects92023 жыл бұрын
You are 100% correct the 2009 Boxster and Cayman don’t have an IMS bearing to worry about but if there was any other kind of engine wear it would show up in the oil filter first.

The steering wheel is for 987.1 ?

What size is the oil filter wrench please for the 987.2?
@hinemnsprojects920211 ай бұрын
Hey, I'm looking at my oil filter wrench and it does not have a size on it but as far as I can remember the oil filter size is 74.4 mm and is 14 point in 3/8' drive. I opted for an aftermarket filter wrench from Amazon I believe because I don't do that many oil changes and didn't see the point if purchasing and expensive wrench. That said, do get the proper wrench and don't rely on any other filter thing to get the housing off.

Thanks for the DIY. Can't help but notice your missing a header bolt.

Thanks for watching, I hope it helped. Thanks for noticing the missing header bolt, that’s my winter or more like spring project before I bring the car out of hibernation.

Did you reset the service reminder? If yes how
@hinemnsprojects92023 жыл бұрын
I did not reset the service minder as I didn't know there was one and I have since sold the car

I'm considering purchasing an 09 Boxster and see you sold yours. Would you recommend it as my first Porsche? I've owned BMWs only so far (335is and M4).
@hinemnsprojects92022 жыл бұрын
Hey Diavi, I would very much recommend the 09-12 (897.2)Boxster as your first Porsche. First off the car is super fun to drive and and second it’s the first year they went away with the IMS bearing on the engine. This makes the car so more desirable than the previous years. Porsches in general will hold their value much better than BMWs. I’d also recommend a well maintained 05-08 (987) Boxster but if you have the $$ 13-16 Boxster 981 is so much more modern and refined. In my humble opinion all these Boxsters will not only hold their value better than any other German car but also increase in value. Just think about it, what other mid engine roadster can you buy for no that much money? Porsches are well build cars and generally very reliable, nothing beats a mid engine car and the sound of the engine and exhaust note are intoxicating, I can’t get enough of it.

If it's a 987.2, why does it have the gen. 1 steering wheel and exhaust pipes?
@hinemnsprojects92023 жыл бұрын
I bought the car this way and as far as know it stock. Doesn’t matter now as I’ve upgraded to a 981 Boxster since making the video.

2009 models had steering wheel carried over from 987.1. 2010 models received a full facelift specs.
