Just a note on this is 987.1 & 987.2 oil level check works differently, as I own and service my 2010 Caymans. The 987.2 year 2009 onward the oil level can't be checked until the oil is fully warmed (not just water temp) due to a different ECM and the programming. I change my oil in my driveway using ramps that I back onto and can just get the job done. The slope of the driveway creates a 1" differential (in my case) over the 8' wheelbase in the horizontal plain F to R and I shim the front wheels up an 1" to achieve level. You can always lower the car back down to get that 1/2 quart out and then jack it up again to install the drain plug. The fill should be 8 quarts total and I fill the filter before installation. Note I have an LN Engineering filter adaptor not the factory unit.

I started adding “check the comments for information” to the beginnings of videos so people see information exactly like this. Thanks for sharing.

Didn’t you put the front wheel chocks on the wrong side of the front tire. It’s to prevent the car from rolling forward in this case so behind the tire does nothing. Also, I think you get more oil out if the car is level. Can use drive up ramps on one end to make it easier. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you and nice video.

_the kind words_ thank you, and thanks for taking the time to comment _chocks_ absolutely, the chocks should be on both sides of the tire, it *is* there but it's difficult to see due to the lighting (sun) _level_ yes, car being level gets a bit more oil oil out

Nice video. Given that the oil pan is in the back and the oil lines run from the oil coolers in the front, is there any concern that you're not getting a full drain with only the rear raised? In this case the oil is draining towards those front oil coolers.

You’ll definitely get a slightly better drain. I’m not sure to be honest of how much. Seems like some interesting discussion here: 986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/58390-car-leveling-oil-change.html

@@RuslanVideoFilms Interesting. I'll give that a read. I did a Boxster neighbors 987.1 2.7 oil change last weekend on a Quickjack. It was reading about middle on the oil indicator before the oil change. We got about 8.5 quarts out of it on the drain.

Seriously don’t know why your videos don’t get more views. I watched everything Porsche’s. Your videos are excellent. Thank you very much! BTW, didn’t care for Porsche before until I got a Cayenne, love it so much that I went and got a 2008 triple blues Boxster 2-3 years ago. And just picked up a 2013 911 a couple months back. Love my cars.

That's amazing. I'm right there with you - love my Cayenne (just bought it - '08). Triple blues is a rare option! How's the 911?

@@RuslanVideoFilms Lucked out with all my Porsche. The 2013 911 is immaculate and has only 50K. The previous 2 owners kept all service (Porsche dealers) records. Love my 3 Porsches but keep finding myself jumping into the Boxster though. Really enjoyed your videos. Thanks again!
