2009 Red Bud Lucas Oil 250cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship (Round 6 of 12)

This is round 6 of the 2009 Lucas Oil 250cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship from Red Bud Track-n-Trail in Buchanan, MI.
Returning contenders like Austin Stroupe, rookies Justin Barcia and SX Lites East champ Christophe Pourcel, SX Lites West champ Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard, Nico Izzi, Jake Weimer, Brett Metcalfe, South African transplant Tyla Rattray, England transplant Tommy Searle, Broc Tickle, Ryan Sipes and others battle it out for the 2009 Lucas Oil 250cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship. This is the rookie 250cc season of current Team Muscle Milk Honda's Justin Barcia. This race is well known for Ryan Dungey's spectacular crash in 250cc moto #2, which would eventually cost him the overall.

You got that right. It ended with Dungey winning Suzuki's first MX title in this class since Travis Pastrana in 2000.

Love Red Bud, it's my hometown track, grew up racin here…Unfortunately my rider didn't make it thru qualifying (ST882) that year & even worse this race was the last I've been too… I've had very severe Crohn's Disease since I was 12yrs old & the VERY NEXT MORNING after this race @7am, I woke up w/such intense pain I could barely walk…my intestinal tract had ruptured, then ruptured again 4 days later (I was 22yrs old at that time, I'm now 27). Was in hospital for over a month & had to have an emergency temp. loop ileostomy that was SUPPOSED to be for 6months MAX. I now have a 10" wide hole in my stomach that's about 12" long. The day I got home from hospital there was a letter waiting from my healthcare provider stating my coverage was being terminated immediately. They would not give me a reason as to why either… Needless to say it's been just over 4yrs since I was supposed to have my TEMPORARY ileostomy (which was meant for NO MORE than 6months) reversed. I'm still waiting for the surgery to this day. With no foreseeable light ahead… I dream of the day I'm able to throw my leg over a bike again, (-_-)... *Also a big shout out to 811Josh Lichtle, love ya bro. I know your watching over us all & I wish I got to tell you Thx for the jersey you sent me while I was in the hospital it meant a lot. We all miss you, R.I.P (Ride In Paradise)…

I think 2009 had the best sounding bikes other than when they first came out with the 4strokes

That's an interesting observation. The way I see it is that all 4-strokes were out there, no different sound effect. The fact that the AMA stepped in during the 2005 season to lower the decibels of the motorcycles was a great move. Everybody likes it, it doesn't burst people's eardrums, etc.

8:40 when Durham sticks his hand right in clark's face and gives him the finger...right as Dungey passes both of them and the camera was on them😂😂😂 That reminded me of a couple of years ago it was raining at Unadilla and I got an awesome picture of Barcia giving someone the middle finger while in mid air...I think it might have been Musquin.

I just remembered, it was last year at unadilla in the mud and Barcia gave web the finger near the end of Moto2. I was walking from the sky shot toward the podium during the last few laps of the race. I saw them battling so I turned on my DSLR and got a great shot of barcia in mid air turning back and giving the finger.😂😂
