I have the 2009 Aura. fully loaded. We weren't looking for that at the time. It was kind of 'hiding' on a dealership lot. and had beautiful rim's and looked so sleek and sporty. I told them I wanted to test drive it. I took it home a couple of hrs later. I've owned this 2009 for 6 yrs now. It was used and only had 6,000 mile's on it. We found out it was a driver's ed car! PERFECT! I can say it has been a great ride! A lot of pep in her step, plenty of room, handle's great, stereo system is 'awesome',.....she has over 90,000 mile's now and I just feel it's time for something a little younger/lower mileage with our dreaded VT. winter's here. Again, she's been a great car and I have no complaint's. My sister in-law drove her Saturn over 200,000 mile's without a single issue! That's getting your money's worth!

I owned a silver Saturn Aura XR 3.6 V6 6 speed fast fun car gave no trouble and loved it. Traded it with 140,000 miles and it still looked like new. I would do it again.

So do I. I currently own 3 amazingly built Saturns. I'm adding the Aura XR soon. Trying to find one with fairly low miles. Saturns from 1990 are still on the road and many are still running well. I've had no issues other than standard maintenance with mine. I have 2 (2007) and 1(2008) they still look and drive like new.

i in fact love saturn's, one of my most favourite car brands. although i'll admit the s-series aren't my favourite, i have personally owned multiple saturn vehicles and have been very please with all of them, affordable, Extremely reliable and after about 2000 they start to get quite nice and luxurious! i love em!

Wife bought the 2009 model. I drove it for the test drive and was blown away at the handling. Other than Mercedes and the Audi I have driven (not mine... not enough$!) it had German handling. I thought, no way. Brought it home, researched as lo and behold, German engineered! Poor man's Bimmer! I love it! Now, I take it out and flog it in the twisties a LOT. She doesn't care for that much though... hmmm. Oh well. ;)

@Mynthoni81 it was actually built in the US on the same platform as the Malibu, but that front end and other aspects were designed to resemble the Vectra (esp. since they had plans to make Saturn sort of an "Opel Jr.")
@romanseano6 жыл бұрын
The Aura came before the Malibu, and it was built upon the same architecture as the Vectra, but with a longer wheelbase.

I finally found a 2008 Aura XR with relatively low miles. It looks and runs like new. I now have 4 great looking and running Saturns. I am definitely a fan of this brand.
@James-lp515 жыл бұрын
Its a shame Saturn is being phased out, they finally started looking real good to. Heard on the news there was talk of cutting the price of Saturns and Pontiacs in half during the phase out process. I might look into getting a new Saturn if the price drops real low it would be worth it.
@AtomicArcherGuy13 жыл бұрын
@TheNewMrCool no way man, Malibu got a worse timing on the slalom, interior is bland, Aura feels more spacious and overall, a 2007 Malibu looks like another piece of junk chevy and Aura looks classy. Auras are also much more rare. I just got one, people turn their heads but for Malibu, looks just like anything else.

From looking back to the older cars, it's obvious how chevrolet has improved, besides, saturn's were suppose to be cheap, affordable, and reliable small cars, i'm happy they stopped saturn, because people didn't want a pricey saturn, that's why we see alot more older ones, chevy's doing waaaaaaaaaay better now, gm really dosen't need that much brands.

have a 2008 XR. Got vids posted of me working on it. Pretty quick car, with a rebuilt rack handles good, just popped on some KYBs up front ride is much better. The interior is a bit quirky and the flattening of the roof for the larger interior space exacts a tool on outward visibility, however. the 3.6 does burn a good amount of oil at 124k miles now. Power is still good, with 60 happening in about 6 seconds, give or take.
@Robert-Corbett14 жыл бұрын
I own a Saturn Aura 2007. It's got about 61 K/M on it and so far no problems. The handeling could improve, however, this thing has more pep than most vehicles on the road. I have the 3.5. Overall, it's probably the best buy for your buck. The 2007 and up Camry's are the shitiest cars out there...people will realise that they are not the same as the 2006, 05, 04, etc. By the time word gets out they will move on to their 2012 model. The Accord is good but over-priced.

Not even close. I had an 08 XR and at best, bone stock I could hit 60 from a dig in about 7 sec. flat. My 17' GLI is sooo much quicker and handles sooo much better. Then again, were talking about a 3600 lb car with a 250 hp naturally aspirated v6 (Aura) versus a 3200 lb car rocking a 230 hp turbo four with a dual clutch transmission. No contest... For somebody to modify an Aura to accelerate as quickly as you claim would require about 15k worth of mods, including retrofitting the intake manifold for a turbo kit... Yeah, me thinks you exaggerate just a tad...

At the time, it was actually a considerably more resolved design than the facelifted Opel Vectra on which it was based. That generation of Astra was also lovely... alas, it was already too little, too late for Saturn. Ironically, the rather refined Opel Insignia then became a Buick... and now Opel belongs to French group PSA Peugeot-Citroën. How things can change in the space of ten years or so!

@romanseano6 жыл бұрын
You're thinking of the Aurora, which is unrelated to the Aura. However, the car you see in this video - or a similar iteration of it - was on track to effectively succeed the last-generation of the Alero, instead of becoming a Saturn, had Oldsmobile continued.
