Low range gear box makes it perfect for driving up mountains... The land cruiser can go just about anywhere on earth. Best vehicle you can get if you have the money.

The only SUV thatis in the same league as the LC is the Range rover, but be careful cuz it may break down on the way back from the dealership.

The Lexus LX is based on the Toyota land cruiser as both have similar looks and features for example the third row seats that stow to the side both models have it.

this is an amazing vehicle. It is an excellent off roader, probably the best. It is luxurious, has excellent quality, great engine, is ultra reliable, and has a lot of heritage behind it. But come on, $65,000 base price for this toyota is rediculous. this car is way too overpriced

@296jayce by the way, the Ir4 is not a Range Rover, it's a Land Rover Discovery. The Range Rover is segment above (better) in the Land Rover family. I'm was referring to the Land Rover "Range Rover"

2:57 82 cubic ft. is not small, but it is that size because toyota did not want to get rid of the fold up seats. My 2001 LC can get from 97 cubic ft to around 110 cubic ft with the seats removed. If it wasn't for the way the 3rd row folded it could have around 95 cubic ft.

@euheide well depends, a regular range rover supercharged, costs more than a fully loaded land cruiser, i built both, im only on colors for the rr and it already at over 95k and the fully loaded toyota is 78k. but a regular rr is a grand more. ppl here mainly compare the lr4 (discovery) to the cruiser. and a fully loaded lr4 is over 64k. so not as expensive as the range rover, but more than its REAL competition, the lr4. hopes that helps

Interesting! My 2004 Dodge Durango gets 68 cubic feet behind the 2nd row and 102 cubic feet with both rows folded. The seats aren't removable, they just fold flat, I guess cargo hatches in SUVs are all designed differently.

@296jayce They are? Here in Portugal around 2010 the prices for a Range Rover started around 131 771 euros while the Land Cruiser from the same year could be acquired for about 73,500 €. Still very expensive but anyway...

I like the land crusier but I think they shall discontunue the land cruiser because it's the exact same thing as the lx cause at least the gx and 4runner are a little diffrent, the lx shall be the luxery version of the sequia because that what the land cruser is and the lx the luxry land cruser and luxery versions of cars should'nt have a luxry model

I can't understand how a company, the size of Toyota, still cannot design decent headlamps. They don't have to do any work, after all Menaechmus in the fourth century B.C. worked it all out for them. Every other car manufacturer on the planet can do it - but not Toyota. We were driving in the high country & we were blinded by certain vehicles. When viewed from the rear after they passed, we could see they were all current Toyota Landcruisers - nineteen of them!!!.

errr, please sir unless you own or owned one leave your thoughts to your self. I own a GL450 and an ML350 both are excellent cars. Take them both to the desert every once in a while and they both are perfect. I've driven my friend's range rover off road and it is excellent as well and out performs them.
