Definitely a huge improvement over the factory exhaust! If I could afford a C6 ZR1 this would be the exhaust i'd get. And mate it with American Racing long tubes with a catted x pipe.

Can't beat the ZR1 stock muffler sound in my opinion, but the NPP version of the Hooker Blackheart exhaust sounds freaking amazing and retains the ability to quiet the exhaust. Two good reason to take the stock ZR1 mufflers off are that they are very prone to internal baffle cracking/failure, and they are highly sought after so you could get good money for them.

The pipe expander kit that autozone rents is worth the drive when working on exhaust it makes putting everything together so much easier, it sounds great I’m a fan of the borla Atak system!

I don't think that expander would work for Alex. It'll do up to 2 7/16 and I'm pretty sure that was a 3" tube.

Alex the Borla sound good. Your stock exhaust sounded good also. I guess what I’m getting at is while both sound good, it didn’t sound like a night and day difference between the 2 and the borla definitely didn’t make the stock sound quite or bad hearing them back to back. It’ll turn my head either way if I heard you coming up the street. One thing I will say, you’re definitely gonna curse Ford out for every Longtube Header install you ever did on a Mustang after doing your Longtubes. The Vette had so much more room and the headers fell in easily. *My install was on a C7 tho.*

Glad you did something besides corsa and went Borla. Borla has a deeper tone to me and I think will go very nice when you put the chop chop cam in the ZR1! Did you ever get any check engine lights for deleting the "active exhaust" ?

He will take the borla off once he goes headers and cam, the drone will be unreal compared to corsa. No you don’t get a cel from deleting valves, plenty of guys just pull the fuse.

I know you don’t like mgw on your mustangs and I for one never wanted to put a short throw shifter on my corvette but it’s as close to stock but more precise and I wish I had done this when I first got it. What I learned here recently with my c6.
