CONGRATULATIONS on 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS Justine and Ron!! CELEBRATE WITH donuts over 200 years old! :) I hope Frontier Patriot will also grow just as large as Early American channel! I live in Columbus Ohio.. Worthington Ohio is a very old part of Columbus that founded in 1803! There is St John's Episcopal Church in Worthington Square which is an old fashioned intersection that was built in 1804! The church is still running strong today!

You two have become our weekly Zen moment where we forget about our troubles and just enjoy listening and learning about history and historic foods. You both truly are the BRIGHT spot in our lives! Keep doing what you're doing! BTW, those "dough nuts" look fantastic!! We would prefer them with coffee, though! 😉God bless you both!

Y'all should really consider making some more of those scrumptious donuts and giving them to Candy to sell in her store from time to time. I'm sure they will instantly become a customer favorite! Especially since you both have been repeatedly devouring them and expressing your delight. You never know, that could be the start of something great! The 19th Century Donut!

Wow, 110 degrees inside! What would Americans have done to feel cooler in the heat in the 18th century and early 19th century? I have lived in houses without air conditioning for most of my life, and in my area of California it's dry when it's hot (except we've had some rain this week, weirdly), so we don't have the humidity that my relatives in Nebraska and Minnesota have to deal with. We generally open up all the windows and doors in the morning, as early as possible, and then close up the house and close the curtains/blinds until at least 5 p.m. when it starts to cool down, and then open everything up again, and of course we have fans going in every room. And if we put wet towels on our heads or around our necks, the evaporation really cools us off, but that wouldn't work as well in a humid place. But if there is a summer power outage and we can't run the fans, we suffer!

When I was a kid...I'm 77 now...we used to get "fry cakes" once in awhile for a treat. They were cooked in oil, but were more square and also dredged in granulated sugar. For a kid it was quite a treat!

It's funny, we've actually been having a TON of June Gloom for the last couple of weeks here in SoCal… No sun, lots of clouds, 66-71°F temperatures, relatively low humidity. It's been nice. 😊 Hopefully the heat eases up on you both in St. Genevieve! 🙌

@@christinat9243 You… are right. 😆 As soon as that lovely June Gloom disappears, the sun decides to just melt us for the next four months, give or take. I'm praying it persists for just a wee bit longer! I happen to like not melting! 😂

As I said in the other channel, those "dough nuts" are known in my country 🇦🇷 as "bolas de fraile" and are pretty known and popular to do. If you think they are delicious you just have to try them filled with dulce de leche 😋👌, they are so tasty. Thanks for doing that recipe.

I did visit Fort Boonesbourough in KY 30 years ago, it took me 6 hours to get there on bad curvy roads. It was chilly here today the hi was 63f rainy and kinda smoky.

Love watching your videos! When you cut flowers for the blue vase, put shorter stems in the lower end and longer stems on the higher end of the vase. Place the shorter end towards you and higher end facing a wall, etc. - you won’t notice it’s “drunkiness”! In fact - it will look beautiful and purposeful! Prayers for a burden free built to your homestead.

When frying - it is better to cook in fat rather than oil. The reason being fat cooks at a higher temperature than oil therefore - nice and crispy (doughnuts)(or fish in batter) on the outside and cooked well on the inside. :D
