Did you bleed the clutch without the little plastic can that came with the Mityvac?
@v8only4 жыл бұрын
You’re just sucking the air bubbles out. Fluid isn’t going to go through the pump

Hey, pretty late, but I’m assuming this is how to get air out of the clutch line with a mandatory separate clutch fluid reservoir. How much do those hand pumps with the gauge go for? And where can I get the variety assorted fittings? I’m assuming I have to experiment with the fittings until I find one that perfectly fits into the clutch fluid reservoir, at the bottom of it, where the port feeds out to the clutch line? Also, after you get all to nearly most of the air out (assuming the hand vacuum pump method here takes out nearly all to actually ALL the excess air bubbles) of the clutch line, wouldn’t you still need to pump the clutch pedal some, to generate a fully bled clutch hydraulic and build up normal, functioning max pressure? Throughout all of this, would you basically not touch the internal slave cylinder and bleeder valve inside of the trans bell housing? You can also install the separate clutch fluid reservoir and get the line to it (and seal off the shared brake fluid reservoir), without having to bleed the clutch pedal, right?
@Green2Clean5 жыл бұрын
Dumb question, how are you squeezing the handle without having the fluid come all the way through the line and to the bleed gun?
@v8only5 жыл бұрын
Aaron Green just squeeze it enough to where the fluid comes close to the handle but not all the way up

There’s normally a small cup that you can put in between and prevent liquid from entering the vac

How well did this end up working? I've got an '01 Z28 with an unpredictable spongy pedal. I'm afraid I've driven it too long like it is, I'm starting to get throwout bearing rattle. Did this help firm your pedal back up to where it should be?

I have a new tick master, and speed bleeder. My mightyvac won’t hold pressure when I try this method, I can only get it up to like 10-15 on the gauge and it lowly leaks off.. what you think

So I tried doing this today, but no fluid was coming up at all as if there was none in there. Yet it shares the same reservoir as my brakes and that’s always full, plus my clutch is still functional, but getting worst. Any idea why I couldn’t draw fluid up with the vac pump ? Yes it was sealed and held a vacuum
@mariovargas583 ай бұрын
Did you figure it out if so how?
@Anthony-fe4oj3 ай бұрын
Yes. Certain models in that generation cannot be vacuum bled. There is another video that’s different, and it worked for me immediately. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJi5XpqPZqmbhaMsi=9Tn5PTyCFh2Od5gA. You clamp the rubber hose line that’s in the clutch line. The pedal will feel very stiff when you apply the clamp, but just push down to the floor slowly then lift up. Unclamp the line and then test the pedal. You’ll notice a difference right away. I did it 3 times to get a full pedal

@OminousCamaro2 жыл бұрын
why would people install this? The clutch does not operate off the brake fluid.
@v8only2 жыл бұрын
Man you absolutely need to do more research before hopping on KZbin like a NOOB and blasting people that obviously have a lot more experience then you. The clutch master and Brake master are shared. There Is no separate reservoir for the clutch master. Because it’s shared with the brake master, the fluid gets contaminated super quick. At that point, you have all kinds of issues
@v8only2 жыл бұрын
It absolutely operates off the brake master/fluid. Pop your hood and follow the hydraulic lines lol!

use a remote bleeder duh
@v8only2 жыл бұрын
Lol why the hell would I do that? I threw my remote bleeder in the trash. This method allows you to do it in seconds without pumping the clutch pedal a billion times-then still not getting right. Plus with this method you don’t need to pull the trans to install a bleeder
