The technical support staff at CRC advised me not to use a hose extension because they have designed the spray can to atomize the cleaning solution. With a long hose, the atomization does not work. Spray directly into the vacuum port was their recommendation.

yeah, person in video could have put something on a gas pedal to slightly increase RPM to 2000 and then go back to engine compartment and spray in directly.

I used a 2x4 out it between the pedal n the seat moved the seat up just enough to get it to stay at the rpm while I sprayed the crc worked awesome

Thanks for this video. I did this last year but sprayed thru the throttle body, will go thru the vacuum line this time on my A5. One thing I think should be emphasized is that the oil must be changed after after the highway drive and the one-hour cool down. Very important to get all that loosened/dissolved crud out! Still not sure how effective this technique is, would like to see before and after proof but I’ve been unable to view it with my borescope. Doing this before every oil change can’t hurt, esp if one starts doing it early in the engine’s life, before it has gotten to high mileage. Best wishes, thank you!

I tried this on my 3.2L Quattro. It had a rough idle, the gas mileage had dropped a bit, and it did not have the power it had previously. The throttle body is new so it did not need cleaning. After using CRC, letting it soak, and then driving, it was very rough at idle and it smoked. Didn't really notice much of a change the first couple of days but about day 3 it started easier/quicker, I definitely noticed more power, and the mpg increased from 23+ mpg to now over 25+ mpg on my daily 15 mile drive. I purchased this vehicle new 17 years ago so I know my car. The proof is also seen at the gas pump where I'm paying less after driving the same miles over the last couple of years. I know the mpg has improved because the computer says so and I always reset my odometer every Friday when I gas up. I check that by dividing the miles traveled by the gallons of gas it takes to fill it up. Just saing. Not saying it has cleaned my valves but I am saying I have proof my car is running better and getting better mpg. I have to say I was skeptical but I can say I have proof my vehicle runs better. This weekend I wil be doing the major service work myself (changing oil/trans fluid, new plugs/coil packs, new air and cabin filter, and cleaning the map sensor). Anywho, again, can't say if CRC cleaned my valves but I can say after using it my car is running better.

@@FukkUr1500 I still have my 2005. It has over 200,000 and it's my daily driver. I plan on using the valve cleaner again later this month. One recommendation, change your oil about a week after using the valve cleaner.

It does not work if you use it in this way (as described on can) I tried it on my 2017 polo tsi I looked in before and after, no difference, I had to open and clean manually using the CRC, then it works. There is no short cuts.

bcuz this thing needs time to dissolve the carbon. thats why using it in the recommended way will not be as effective as it says. see hre: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ-Zf4l-gd5gjsU&ab_channel=VehicularDIY

Could you do a diy of cleaning the secondary air intake? They get carbon really bad also. Thanks from a subscriber
@daveraymond22652 жыл бұрын
I finally got the secondary air injection code on my Q5. In CT you can pass emissions with one incomplete monitor as long as it is not a CAT monitor. To pass emissions I cleared all codes and, during cold starts only, I immediately bring the engine up to 1,500 rpm for about a minute. The Air Injection System only runs a test on cold start in the first minute or so but will not run the test if the engine is not idling during this time. By doing this I was able to get all other monitors to complete except the Air Injection System and pass emissions. The bad news is I now have to look at this check engine light all the time but I know what it is. The fix for this is ridiculous and I am not willing to do it at this point.

John, I wasn't experiencing any issues prior to performing the valve cleaning. The main reason I did it was because at 135K I thought there must be carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves. The procedure was more of a preventative maintenance and vehicle continues to perform beautifully with no issues.

If your car has is diesel and has high mileage, save your time and money, these products wont work. Remove the injectors(yes it s complicated) and do it manually.

@Ye Old Geezer again, look at any forum, do your own research. Unless you took the manifold off, you cannot be sure, and those that do (like me) report no change. DI engines need mechanical de carbonization. Fact.

Is this guy a salesman for CNC? I actually fell for this BS and tried it. Nothing was accomplished. All I did was irritate my Audi). Don’t waste your time, and $17 on a can with this method. All you’re doing is polishing the inside of the throttle body intake with this method. The carbon buildup is like a few layers of dried paint and way of removing is with hard work, which means an afternoon of taking the throttle body apart. It’s a waste trust me.
@daveraymond22658 ай бұрын
Agreed, I fell for it too. It doesn't even clean the throttle body, it does splash on the back of the valves but does very little to clean them. The back of the valves need to be scraped clean or better yet walnut blasted to get them clean. I'll take the old port fuel injection any day.
@jasonrainwater12187 ай бұрын
@@daveraymond2265 I wish there was a DIY walnut blaster or something similar. I could do myself in my driveway at home, because I could imagine how expensive Audi) would charge to do something on this level. I have seen one very useful video clip of an Asian guy that uses little chipping, tools, throttle body cleaner/brake cleaner, brushes with a vacuum cleaner. He does a very thorough and neat job and pretty much gets rid of all the black Goop piled up in the exhaust housing.I think this is going to be my next project on the vehicle because I honestly cannot afford to take my vehicle to an Audi shop and have them do it
