After installing a new compressor and recharging the ac system, I still had only hot air. This video was just what I needed, thanks!!

It was very easy to fix. The only thing was that it was kinda hard to get to the 3rd nail in the back, but other than that, I have full blown heat. 🙏🏾 thank you

Great video, my wife has a 2011 equinox and man I been fighting this same issue for a while, I’ve replace the temp mode actuator 3x and it failed again this time I’m going to swap it with a Gm part and hope I have a better luck.

Did it work? I have the same issue with my sisters i replaced it today and it didnt work
@wisco_livin6902 жыл бұрын
@@mayralazarin4582 so I ended up replacing it with the dealer part ran me 80$ approx and so far seems like all is working great. Granted I have access to a scanner so I was able to recalibrate the actuators but there is another way to do it yourself if a scanner is not available. *Turn ignition off/engine off * Remove HVAC fuse (#12 fuse on passenger side under radio) for a minimum of ten secs *Install fuse back in again * start vehicle * wait 40 secs for the HVAC control module to self calibrate “do not try to move or adjust heater settings” Hope that helps, good luck

thanks for the advice. i’ve been having the clicking sound for a while and defeat the noise by turning fan to max until heat or a/c running without clicks and then can lower fan speed to desired level. i assumed it would be a major repair but will definitely change out the blend door actuator immediately. however, today the fan did not work at all and fuses seem good.
@4fletch752 жыл бұрын
FYI, . . . Eventually the “clicking” noise will go away but that is most likely due to the gears being totally stripped off. When I did this one for a co-worker she said it was clicking originally but by the time I did it there wasn’t any noise. Good luck! If you were close I would help as it’s easily done.

Well I tried to do this I got the glove compartment out I unplugged the actuator I got the first screw out and did not have an angle to be able to get the other two screws out. Things you should have told us we were going to need something special before we got started so we can have it together. I'm a woman working on this tell me what tool I need.
@4fletch752 жыл бұрын
I mentioned what you could use on the video. The screws are 1/4” or Phillips head. If you have a socket set or know someone who has one, it’s a 1/4” socket. I’m sorry. If you’re close in Utah I would happily help.

i had the knocking sound now the vent has no air at all coming through. no heat or cold and no air. Will a new actuator fix this? Thanks
@4fletch75Ай бұрын
When you note knocking I’m assuming you mean more of a clicking like described? The clicking described in the video is actually the plastic gears stripping. When there’s no more clicking that means either the fuse has finally given up and burned, or there’s not any plastic gears left to click on each other. If you had the clicking, replacing this actuator and possibly the fuse “should” restore the operation?
@4fletch75Ай бұрын
Additionally, if you actually watch the video, I explain almost exactly what question you are asking. The noise on mine had stopped because it had gone so long. Good luck!!

@@4fletch75 Yes i mean the clicking. Now on my way home the air works again. Did the fuse need a break or something?

WHat tool did u use

I think I used a 1/4” socket with an extension and a universal joint so it could bend around to the back one that’s a little difficult to get to. Good luck!

I put in the new one but what if the holes are not lining up with the screw holes? Am I having to force it? So I can line the holes up to screw in? If that makes any sense lol
@4fletch7511 ай бұрын
“I put in a new one.” How did you put it in if the holes aren’t lining up? Maybe you don’t have the correct part? It is in a somewhat difficult place to get screws in but mine went in fairly easily. I’m sorry but I don’t know how to answer your question or help.

My sister has a 2015 equinox and i replaced it today and it still did not work. What else could it be?
@4fletch752 жыл бұрын
Were the gears stripped in the old one you took out or did it look ok? I would have to look at it because there could be a few causes? It could be as simple as low antifreeze?
@4fletch752 жыл бұрын
Did you also recalibrate it like mentioned in the video?
