I fixed this problem by back flushing my heater core. The hose leading to the heater core was hot, the hose exiting the core was cold. To release the radiator hoses from the heater core at the fire wall, a inexpensive hose quick release tool was required, on my 2000 GMC Sierra. I used a garden hose and sent water into the heater core output, with the input hose also removed. Once hooked back up the heat was working again.

I read something similar to this. It said to squeeze the hot hose because it may be clogged. I did that, still no heat and now the truck is running hot. 2001 Silverado.

Usually if u have a heater core leak you will smell it in your car as a sweet smell.

@0:13 - if it is that cold outside, why aren't you wearing a long sleeve and/or jacket? Also it is cold inside the truck. because you have the vent set to cold and not hot.

This is the best video explaining exactly what I need to hear, today i got antifreeze I had to have an intake gasket and water pump.. but I picked up the full strength, it was universal when they said it could be yellow and orange I was going to put it back but this guy said it would be ok I should have listen to myself.. Ive did everything for heat except door actuator but I can hear my door open and close, all my vents work it has to be the heater core anyone know what else I can check , already flushed it ?? if it were the dials to change temperature looks like I would hear the blend door open... the mechanic ask me what is wrong with your heat.. well I dunno

I think air gets caught in the highpoint on my heater core and doesn't shoot out high temp air. Air bubble in heater core.

Have a Ford 2016, F150 randomly blowing cold air when idling other than that while driving works fine sometimes when I rev engine hot air will go back to normal. Thanks.

I purchased a 2019 Dodge Durango just over 3 months ago. There is just over 36,000 miles on it. Last week we noticed that the rear vents only would only blow cold air. I'm not happy with the dealership but that's another battle. I've tried syncing the front and back heat and vice versa. The air is blowing strong out of the rear vents, just cold. Any advice please?

Hello, I have changed my thermostat and replaced cooling system with new coolant. I have spent lots of money already on collant and thermostat. What steps can I take to fix the engine overheating? There might appear to be a very small leak, yet I cannot detect from where. The heat only comes on when I rev or accelerate. I am worried the engine will overheat eventually but I am just unsure what to do. Could it be the radiator or heater core? I don't see leaks by the water pump and I just do not know what to do anymore. I have no engine codes but I noticed the reservoir very slowly dissipate coolant. I added bar's leaks cooling system repair to radiator directly, very recently. Again, car heat only comes on when revving or accelerating and then is ice cold when idle.

My 2006 Honda Accord has this issue....I'm 99.9% sure it's a clogged heater core The radiator hose feeding the core is piping hot, but the return line is cold (at idle) Fortunately, I get heat at 2k rpm and above I've tried flushing the core with no luck :(
