2010 Chevrolet Impala: Tour And Review

In this video I take a look at my 2010 Chevrolet Impala, and talk about it's pros and cons. While its not particularly interesting or exciting, it has served a purpose for many, many years. The very American Chevrolet Impala has not just been used by the elderly to drive around the retirement community like the stereotypes would suggest. It has been a good choice for personal use and family transportation, business and rental fleets, the police, and taxi companies. Its simplistic design and nature greatly aid its versatility.
In 2011, the Impala went through a light refresh, then a total redesign in 2014, both lowering its quality. That, mixed with an aging platform and lack of modern feature probably played into it's eventual cancelation in 2020. This 2010 is the last of "the way it used to be", when Impala sales still were very decent.

Trunk struts a nice slightly surprising high end touch. Many cheaper cars (and some not so cheap) have hinges that intrude into the trunk; intermediate has covered hinges.

The double folding tear seats does it for me. I could unlatch the bottom part of the seat and put my bicycle there with the front tire removed

Nice good to no I got the same car a few years newer 2012 with the 3.6 6 speed it’s pretty good getting over 22 mpg right now u still got that car

Might be both a location and class thing, but these things are still very common to see. Along with cars older than it.

I have a 2010 Impala LT. One thing I do not really like is the absolutely terrible throttle lag these cars came with.

Ended up picking up a 2010 but its a police package. Hoping its as reliable as my p71

It does have fixed overlap variable cam timing (altho ohv, as noted). Its good this has the 4speed. The 6 speed was that garbage tranny that ford made w gm

Great video! How did you program your key to the car? I plan to use the same key for my 2010 impala LT as well.

Thanks! I had the key cut, then there was a sequence of inserting the old key in the ignition, then the new one. I think the instructions came with the key. I can't actually remember off-hand, its been a few years. The programming for the fob is done through the drivers info system, it's easy
