2010 F-150 Ford Door Lock Actuator replacement

I had to replace the Door Lock Actuator...which is part of the door catch...on the driver's door on my 2010 F150 SCREW. I could not find a video here on KZbin for it, so made one to upload. Use at your own discretion.

I plugged in the new actuator and it doesn't work so I have a wiring problem??? All other 3 doors locks work just driver's door doesn't??? 2014 f150 xlt

Sounds like it. Check the fuses. Not sure if there's one per door or what. But if the old one blew a fuse, replacing the fuse and hooking up the new one might fix it.

This video was very helpful for me, Sean. Just replaced the drivers side actuator on my '11 Raptor this morning. Hardest part was disconnecting all the rods and then getting them back in place on the new unit. Working like a charm now. You can get these for @ $105 + s/h from Tasca parts. Great people up there.

The plastic clip that held the rod on for the exterior door handle failed on the new unit after about two years. I had to take it all back apart to replace a $5 plastic clip (bought as part of a kit at O'Reilly's). It was much faster the second time...LOL. I think the problem the first time was the learning curve (and lack of a video at the time) when doing it the first time.

Funny you mentioned that rod clip. I kept the old one "just in case".....LOL.

Victor, it's been some time since I replaced the actuator so I don't have a link.......however, I did order mine from www.tascaparts.com and I remember it was quite a bit less than from our Ford dealer parts dept. If you get in there and can't find it, they've got really great customer service.....give them a call. Just be sure to order the proper actuator "side".......passenger or driver's.

Great video Sean but here are a few things I learned today when changing out on my 2010 King Ranch Lesson Learned 1. The wires to your door lock and windows are very hard to remove and install so be very careful to not damage them or you will end up cracking the plasted cover that the controls sit in on the door panel. 2. Pay attention to the rod that goes up from your door lock this position is very important when reinstalling the lock assembly this rod goes into the upper slot hole on the unit or you will have to remove it completely to get the rod to put the rod in the correct position. 3. The rod that attach to the door handle that is locked in place with the only lock clip that comes with the unit if you forget to move it in back of the lock assembly before you install it onto the door and after attach the small rod you will soon realize that you will have to remove the three attach screws and and the small rod again slide the assembly down inside the door to be able to attach it to the clip.
