There is 2 Push pins that can be tight I used a thin scraper and a rag on the paint and slowly worked it out. Put some die electric grease on them when you reinstall it. It didn't want to pull out at first.

Old dirt and dust on the pins can make it difficult to pull loose and the scraper with a rag to protect the paint works perfectly! Thanks for the comment!

I feel like this video has to be missing a step because I’ve changed the brake lights in every car I’ve owned for the last 20 years and it’s not even close to being loose once you remove the two 8 mm screws. I Even heard a cracking sound when I tried to forcibly remove them so there has to be something else holding the brake light in besides those two bolts

Sorry to hear your still having problems removing the assembly. After removing the screws the assembly has to be pulled out laterally away from the vehicle. Do not pull the housing towards the rear because the prongs can break off. If you have a couple plastic door panel tools try using them to keep from scratching the paint. Sometimes dirt and grime gets in there over the years and makes a bit tougher to dislodge. Hope this information is helpful.

After you remove the screws you can take a thin piece of wood or plastic (so it won’t scratch the paint) and pry it out sideways. Don’t pry straight back. Hope this helps!
