Damn sir, clean work. Can you give us more details please. Motor mounts? ECU? Clearances?
@ModdedGarage4 жыл бұрын
the only motor mount that is stock it the transmission mount that goes to the passenger frame rail. i did have to make the mounting position it bolts to however. the others had to be fabricated and adapted (nowhere near stock) the left side mount is a festica mount insert (rubber) with a custom arm that goes over to the l15a7 cover. the lower rear mount is a modified 22 re mount that goes to the stock motor beam for the old festiva engine. the front lower mount is made from the factory fit rear mount, flipped over cut in half and adapted. the ecu is factory 2010 fit ecu tolerances? i pretty much just centered the axles so they protruded evenly on both sides and then worked on fitting the engine that way. so the axles were even length on both sides for the knuckles and suspension and also centered the axles and trans in the bay so the wheels were in the proper location with the suspension.

@ModdedGarage3 жыл бұрын
So after doing the tc which was a mishmash of lexus and scion wiring. I realized that people are lazy. So when i bought the honda fit engine. I found a donor body that was in a rear end collision. It had all of the electronics and wiring front to rear and only cost 400 bucks. I stripped the car and adapted the whole of the cars wiring and electronics. So in essence this festiva has wiring fuse boxes and electronics that are from the 2010's And even has rfid and security features. I literally just had to route all of the plugs in the right places. Then splice the harness where lighting would need to intersect the body of the festiva. Much easier.

Super dope build bro I got a 1993 Festiva and have been wanting to upgrade the brakes and suspension can you share any insight on what you used and what was needed to make it all work? Great video BTW hopefully you can make an update video 👍🏽
@ModdedGarage2 жыл бұрын
i used the honda fit control arms, axles, struts, etc in the front so it is litterally all honda excluding the tophats. in the rear i cut the hond fit rear subframe up and installed the swaybar into the festive rear axle and then cut the ford mounts off completely for the old discs and welded on the rear mounts from the fit axle to the rear deadaxle of the festiva. it is a real Frankensteins monster to be honest.

What up bro I just picked up an 88 Festiva with a Honda k24a2 motor. But I wanted to ask about the front suspension. When you say you used everything from the Honda fit did you also use the steering rack from the Honda fit as well? I have crazy torque steer and wondering if I changed everything to be Honda as for as the suspension goes if it would help. Any ways I’m looking forward to hearing back from you. I’ll have a video up here on YT soon hopefully you can check it out.
@ModdedGarageАй бұрын
So I would clarify. I did not use the subframe. I did modify the fit control arms to mount to the stock festiva mounting points. And I also used the festiva steering rack and yes you are going to get batshit torque steer this way lol. I do want to modify the car to accept a fit subframe. Maybe you can be proactive and do this the first time on your own setup. Good luck man.

Is the festiva all that much better looking than the fit? I guess at 1900lbs it is a lot lighter. The conquest was the American version of the Japanese Starion that predated the Eagle Talon/Plymouth laser. The Starion was slow though. 1:50 need to route the air intake to somewhere colder but great job.

Ya but when is the tc turbo video coming?
@ModdedGarage5 жыл бұрын
this is a good question, the weather plays decent role on what i do. so for now i have had the conquests engine parts at a shop, i redid the festiva front suspension. and sometime hopefully soon i will be attempting to do a lot to the tc. among those things is to reweld a new core suport up front. change the front subframe, rebuild th 300zx z32 trans i have, make a franken uz vvti heads and non vvti block. install a remote rear mount turbo system utilizing a borg warner efr 7163 externally gated turbocharger. it is however going to take some time. i also want to modify the rear wheel wells to accept a large size rim and tire. so i have quite a bit on my plate for the tc up coming... but it should be worth it but we will see. honestly probably will not attempt start until the beginning of spring

sooo i have been going between two ideas, one if boosting the 4.0 v8 the other is building a 5.7 hemi with a 392 camshaft. it would make about 400 to the wheel. and under boost much more. but i would have to rebuild the car again....i am tempted lol

If you do. Go k, or j series. This is great on gas and not necessarily slow. It's competitive with modern cars in its category, but not fast. But if you wand fast k20, or a j35 will net you better overall power to weight.

Late to the party, but I'm planning on the same thing. What parts did you swap from the fit? Anything from the festiva fit? Did it need custom mounts?
@ModdedGarage3 жыл бұрын
its easier to say what i didnt swap haha. body panels unibody subframes, i adapted the front suspension from the fit, ad used the firewall from the fit for all of the mounts for the clutch brake and gas pedals i used as much of the fit as i could even using the brake master and clutch master. all of the electronics engine transmission shift cables etc came from the fit.
@davidkim510 Жыл бұрын
Did you use the fire wall from the fit in order to use the dash? Or was it necessary to make it run. Also how did you adapt the festiva for fit front end? Im pretty interested in doing this swap but id rather just swap in whats absolutely necessary to make it work Thanks

I bout a clapped out donor car to use for the harness parts etc. This festiva has a modified firewall that was taken from the fit it had parts donated from. This way I could mount everything from the fit from the master cylinder to the clutch master. I also used all of the electronics from the front to the rear of the car so now this festiva is obd2. Which I like because it really is a great diagnostic system people often fail to utilize. I really cannibalized all I could from the donor fit.
@anths55772 жыл бұрын
What all did you have to do in order to make this festiva possible?
@ModdedGarage2 жыл бұрын
Originally I planned to just swap the engine. But it was actually more cost effective to build new suspension and widen the wheelbase then It was to just buy custom axles in order to retain the stock suspension. So I retrofitted the knuckles, brakes, and suspension with modifications from the honda fit to the festiva body. I'm glad I did because the brake master from the fit and the brakes make this things stop super hard lol. Pretty much anything you can think of including portions of the floor firewall from the fit were used in order to have mounting provisions for the fit hardware pedals etc.
@ModdedGarage2 жыл бұрын
1000 for custom axles...I got a donor Honda fit with a motor that had been rear ended for 300 bucks. So a little time with a welder wasn't such a huge deal.

I have a 93' with low miles but the motor leaks oil like a sieve. Any idea what kinda MPG you get with the new motor?
@ModdedGarage4 жыл бұрын
thanks man, yeah these mazda blocks tend to do that. plus i got sick of buying parts for an antiquated block, when you swap you kind of upgrade. now everything on the festiva can be easily found, from the brake which are all honda fit equipment to the engine, transmission, cooling, clutch and brake stuff. surprisingly the brake master has the same bolt pattern. so it can be made to work in the festiva if you want a semi bolt on brake upgrade.
@ModdedGarage4 жыл бұрын
i just think the linkage or rod coming out of the brake master is too short so i welded a longer pedal link. turned out great though
