I think I watched all of the videos on KZbin regarding removing the W204 blower motor before attempting it myself. None of the videos properly explain the pink/purple connector. It would make sense that the pink/purple connector needs to be pulled down towards the floor, but the connector actually needs to be pushed up towards the blower. You can do this by pressing a small tab in the middle of the pink/ purple connector.

Stark makes a superb replacement. It cheaper than OEM but not really cheap either. Its also as powerful as the OEM. Many good deals push very little air.

Good video about the complicated electrical connectors, but you left out the clip that has to be removed before rotating the blower clockwise. Also you left out replacing the resistor/regulator that enable different blower speeds. A bad blower can burn out the resistor and vice versa. For this reason they normally are replaced in pairs. Probably why your first blower replacement lasted only two years.

Hey man i have the same issue with mi car and I'm gonna buy the blower motor but in the fitment note say ( for codes 800, 808 or 809) I don't have any code in my dash , you think it's different problem.? I can feel little heat but is no sound for any level so the resistor is good
@petespit91693 жыл бұрын
I ordered mine from FCP euro. It only took a few days to get and they have a good warranty on all parts they sell. There are cheaper ones on Amazon, I tried that a few years ago but only got 2 years out of it. You won’t get a code from the dash. Mine was still heating up, I could feel the heat once the car warmed up coming from the defroster at the windshield. Then when at highway speed the heat would come out a bit more just from the air being forced into the car. I got this one: www.fcpeuro.com/products/mercedes-blower-motor-assembly-febi-2048200208 It was 100 bucks, they also have the OEM but 365 dollars. I think the code they refer to is not an error code but a model or vin code. FCP might be able to help if you call or email them. I can’t find the 800, 808 or 809 code anywhere on my car but it fit and works fine. It might be a bit louder but it’s hard to tell.

Just found this on the codes. They are option codes and if you call a dealer and provide the vin they can give you the option code. www.justanswer.com/mercedes/a68zw-need-replace-blower-fan-parts-list-says-not.html

How do you for certain its the blower motor, my heat and ac wont blow, and when i turn it on that fan wont spin so im sure thats what it is
@petespit91695 ай бұрын
@@calebadair6016 it does sound like that’s the issue. When my blower motor went out is was winter, I could faintly feel heat coming through the front window defroster and I could smell the heat but just wasn’t getting airflow from the vents. If it was making noise while running before it stopped working that’s an indicator of the motor being the problem. Also if you remove the cabin air filter cover which I show in the video you can try to give the motor a spin while it’s on. If the bearings are corroded then they won’t be able to spin off the initial power on cycle and you may be able to help them by spinning the motor from the cabin air filter box. This would help confirm it’s the motor, but if it doesn’t start it still seems to be the issue. I’d suggest getting a new one and plugging it in to check, then if it is just finish the installation. I’m sure you can check voltage and other electrical things when trying to troubleshoot but the easy way is to plug in a new one.

I have to ask is there a filter that needs changing and is there a fuse for the blower? I been having issues with mine for a few months and it doesn't even seem to work but before I replace it I want to makes sure. Also can you give me an estimate price of a new one.
@petespit916911 ай бұрын
There is a cabin air filter but it shouldn’t cause the blower not to work. There is probably a fuse for the blower, I’m not certain where it is. FCP euro has some options for the blower, just check the website. I bought the cheap one from them, they have a good warranty.

It's my second day struggling with putting the blower back on the car. I can't rotate it back into the lock position. It sticks out and can't get in place.
@petespit9169 Жыл бұрын
There is a good tab that is just about opposite the duct port. A few people said they had to pull it down to get the motor off. Wondering if that is causing the issue.
@DillyyWZ Жыл бұрын
Is it a common problem that the blower motor makes a rattling noise when the heat/ac is turned on? I checked my cabin air filter and there are no problems. the rattle/whistle sounds like it is coming from this piece exactly.
@petespit9169 Жыл бұрын
I never had that issue when mine failed. It could be that the bearing is failing, which could cause a rattle as there would be more play in the shaft the plastic cage is mounted to. A whistle noise could be a vacuum issue. You could remove the blower and then plug it in and run it to see if the noise is definitely coming from the blower. Vacuum actuators seem to be the cause of the whistle noise on most forums.
