I pull the fan motor out and tested by connecting to the battery. It is working. Now what is wrong? Fuse or control panel?
@fatalambitions55974 жыл бұрын
you would have to test and see if you have power coming to the wires where the fan plugs in if not you know the problem is before that check the fuse and see if it is good and there is power there there is a blower motor regulator but it is rare for anything to go wrong with it most the time if it is going bad the fan will work on some some of the speed settings but not all you can get that part online for about 60 bucks if that is the issue

true but most the time by the time you watch a video most people have already looked at that so i didnt even say anything about it these fail so often that its usually never a fuse anyway

Does these cars have blower motor resistors? My fan speeds all does not work.

@arnatha5 жыл бұрын
I just changed the blower, but it doesn’t work at all, where is the fuse from this motor? Thanks
@fatalambitions55975 жыл бұрын
Usually, the problem is the blower motor or the regulator, not with the fuse. Fuse 100 the fuse for the blower is built into the positive jumper post on the passenger side. The fuse is not replaceable separately. Even if the fuse was blown,, it would be due to a bad blower motor or blower regulator.

Question , how do you know if you need the blower motor or the resistor ?
@fatalambitions55976 жыл бұрын
you can test it Using a multimeter set on the Ohm scale, use the positive lead and test the black wire. To check the wire for current, use your ignition key and turn it to the run setting, turn the heater power to full power and set the multimeter to DC power. If your meter reads "no current" the motor is no good

I bet you never replaced it because you say it's super easy and any one can do it. I just did the job, I'm very handy man and I did many mechanical reparation by myself, and it took me over 4 hours to take the blower out. I could easily pull the tab and rotate the bower but it doesn't come out. After so many researches (what you didn't mentioned) there is a small plastic tab that stops the blower from rotating to the right position. I had 2 options either remove the glove box or to find a solution to break this small tab on the old blowet. That's what I did I decided to break the tab and I could rotate it to the right position. I'm sorry it's not a job that anyone can do. You need to completely put you head below the blower to make the job. I'm pretty sure you never did that job.
@fatalambitions55975 жыл бұрын
i dont get how any of that makes any since because i showed you in the video of me doing it i told you about the tab it took me 30 mins to do this job
@80goal5 жыл бұрын
All these guys had my same issue on MB forum mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/524772-need-help-removing-blower-motor.html . You know the aftermarket blower does not have this additional lip, maybe the one you took out from your car is an after market version and that's why it was easy to remove. I agree it's 30 minutes job if this lip doesn't exist because it hits the glove box from inside and very very hard to see it and hard to reach to break it with a plier. Good for you if it was easy for you

@@80goal my video is about how mine was and you are the first person out of alot that has used the video with out no problem the link you gave does not show anything about what you are saying my part was factory it had Mercedes stamps on it
@Shoopshoop5 жыл бұрын
FatalAmbitions it’s a different piece of plastic that is preventing it from fully turning (you misunderstood) - I was able to partially rotate until I hit something by the glovebox, The green tab/flap was pulled down. In some cases people had to remove the glovebox to move out this piece of plastic, some others broke it. While I am trying to do it the safe way my husband wants to break it (I also took a video of the plastic that is preventing it from fully rotating) - in my case it’s not aftermarket and seeing how the glovebox light is not functioning I am assuming it has been fixed before (by Benz due to original OEM part being present) and someone forgot to re-connect it after reassembling the plastic - I am debating that instead of breaking it, maybe filing the plastic down could be an option...but that’s just me. I will compare my aftermarket part to the OEM

80goal did some more digging - some w204 models require the glove compartment to be removed -mbworld.org/forums/attachments/e-class-w212/346633d1483980505-advice-chirping-blower-motor-replacement-passenger-footwell-ac-blower.pdf Yes this says w212 but it includes the step by step instructions for 204 as well (with special notations)

Thx, but easier said than done. I won't even give this a shot & am trying to run down s/one to do it for me, _H O W E V E R..._ *=====>* How do you test *FIRST,* if it's the resistor or the actual motor, because one parts like this are purchased, you don't get a chance to return 'em.
