Oddly enough, this is the most points Michigan has ever given up in a football game in spite of winning it. The most in a loss came just last Saturday (11/24/18) against the Buckeyes (62-39 loss).

I know we weren't our best...... but danm, as a 12 year old, this was one of my favorite games to attend. I like defense, but it's always fun to score on the first play

i was at this game... never have i seen such a lack of respect for playing defense in my life

@patmeg I WILL say that you have probably made the most accurate assessment of Greg Robinson I've ever seen. Well done.

@PNAS99 Illinois' defense looks pretty good, but "do what Ron Zook did" is almost always a recipe for failure. However, if someone like Jeff Casteel wants to come here, we probably shouldn't refuse.

If you like defense yes. If you like offense, this was a great game

Lets take alot of good out of this,the defense got alot of stops in the second half.Demmons and Gordan played good football for that defense all day and we scored 67 points on a defense that only allowed 17 to Ohio St!!!! this could be a turning point for the season cuz with 3 straight losses the pressure of a repeat of last season was resting heavy on this teams back.
@PNAS9914 жыл бұрын
@patmeg True indeed,i watched the game from home and i liked how Brian Greise imphasized the fact that if RR wants to be sucessful here then he needs to do what Zook did and get rid of defensive staff and bring in new defensive style of coaching...He pretty much aired him out on tv.lol i liked that,he said what we all as Michigan fans been saying since last year.The staff is stubborn,cuz we dont have the beef of front rite now to run that kinda D.The front line has to b dominant! need a 4-3

@patmeg This is a defensive turnaround because we turned the ball over FIVE TIMES and still won.

I don't know if this will mark the turning point of the 2010 season or the currently failed dickrod era, but no matter what happens, this game will go down as one of the top 10 in Wolverines history, at least IMO. Only the 1999 Orange Bowl and maybe the 2005 Penn State game was more exhilerating. GO BLUE!

@patmeg "they need to start recruiting MICHIGAN defensive players, 4 and 5 star recruits like we are perfectly able of doing. " Rich Rod has been doing this since day 1. We had six 4 and 5 star defensive backs either committed or on our roster in February. All of them either got hurt (Woolfolk, Emilien), left the team (Cissoko, Turner, Warren), or did not show up (Dorsey) for some reason. That's unlikely to repeat.

@patmeg WHEN I SAY TURNING POINT,i mean TEAM.The defense actually got stops in the second half and only allowed 14 points in 3rd and 4th qtr.If the offense would of scored some more points we could have ended this game in regulation.Its positive's that can be carried over to the next game that wasnt there in the penn,mich st,and iowa lost.In those games,We couldnt even get the ball back to comeback,especially the penn st game...watch the game again!!! GO BLUE!!

@commodorefan2 we'll agree to disagree on rodriguez. As for GERG......I won't shed a tear if he's fired, but saying he's responsible for what went wrong is kind of like saying Tony Franklin is responsible for what went wrong at Auburn's offense in 2008. Its pretty damn clear Robinson is being forced to run a defense that he has no familiarity with (the 3-3-5), and that dickrods cronny assistants are subverting his authority as d-coordinator.

I'm glad the our defense has been improving since 2011. Dumb idea to bring Rich Rodriguez here because Michigan is a pro style offensive team

I'm not saying Rich Rod is a bad coach (I think he's a good one), I'm just saying his spread system din't fit with Michigan

@TheZooCrew Well yea,that's what i mean.It would have to be someone with a great history of collegiate success,We definatly dont want a guy who gonna have everybody scratch their head.I like RR,the offense is a beast especially when they play turnover free,but he has make a quick turnaround for next season if wants his job past 2011.

@commodorefan2 On top of that, dickrods assistants are just down right shitty, from Bruce Tall to Adam Braithright to Tony Gibson (as well as Scott Shafer in 08 and Jay Hopson in 08 and 09). And while the secondary has a dearth of talent and experience, the d-line and linebackers do not....but they just gave up 357 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns to a team that ran the ball 29 straight times. Thats all coaching right there, and I blame it on the position coaches first and foremost

@chyzhr Sorry, it was that way from the beginning. And you still can't read.
