Nobody had accountability in Sacramento during those years. It's only Boogie you hear about though. Tyreke would not run plays. He would be zoned out some games. The coach threw Cousins under the bus, said he was being traded without any authority to say so and instead offiring him or suspending Cousins, they just did one game off for Cousins and put them back together in a disastrous scenario. Then you got some stability and order there with Malone, so they trade Isaiah Thomas for nothing because the GM had a vendetta against him & the coach, but the team still manages to get dragged into a winning record to start the season until Cousins gets sick, and they fire the coach. That left shrapnel and anger all over the team for years. George Karl was a nightmare. Cousins gets hate for expressing what everyone was feeling all those years.

@@75aces97Not to mention the pace of the game is faster than in the 90’s and 00’s.
@75aces97 Жыл бұрын
@@fortynights1513 pace is certainly a factor, but I'm convinced frequent minutes during developmental years is the bigger factor. Through the 1990s at least 40 guys played all 82 games, at least 10 of them were over 30. Even future hall of famers played 80 games into their 30s routinely. By 2005 only 26 players played all 82, and only 3 30-somethings. And it's dwindled since then. In 2022 only 5 guys played 82, only one who was 30. When that generation of players who entered the draft after 1 year, or skipped college altogether, hit their 30s, not many of them could still hack 80 games anymore. That extra repetitive stress in their youth causes problems down the road. More Achilles tears, more ACL tears, bone spurs.
@fortynights151310 ай бұрын
@@75aces97So after the mid 2000’s, we saw more players who came into the league with more mileage on them because they’d put in more minutes when training? Also, I looked at the 2007-08 season (which had 19 players start 82 games, and still 33 players start 80 or more). That season had nine players start 80+ games who were 30 or older, and none of those nine were playing power forward or center (back when positions were more clearly defined in general), and all but two of them were point guard or shooting guard. Perhaps the players who were taller aged less gracefully?

Glad Jeremy Lin gets some love, I count myself among those who believe he deserves more. He was also terrible derailed by injury -a case could be made by bullying and stigma too.

2011 draft is gonna be the best , its deepest since 96. Kawhi, Klay, Kyrie , Butler, Kemba and several other really good players.

2003 lebron, wade, melo, bosh, west, howard, mo will and korver. 2015 towns, russell, porzingis, booker, oubre, rozier, harrell, richardson, wood
@CBarber224 жыл бұрын
@@tnikoli40 give me Vucevic, Tobias Harris, Jonas Valancuinas, Marcus Morris, TThompson, IT over everybody you named after David West in 2003. Towns is the only guy from 2015 with a major career accolade and it's been 5 years, not sure why you even mentioned them here. I didn't even mention Mirotic, Shumpert, Kanter, Reggie Jackson, Chandler Parsons.. 2 of those guys will go undrafted in the redraft

Had no idea how bad this draft is overall. Top few picks are good but not deep at all
@75aces974 жыл бұрын
That's what hits me when I listen. I don't think of this as a bad class, probably because it was sandwiched between a few good ones, but when you go over it, by #9 or 10 any players you'd want are already fished out. I like the top players in this class (Wall, George, Cousins, Bledsoe) more than most fans, but I have to admit they're probably a little overrated.

Is this the last one? Are they gonna do anymore after 2010?
@billyfresh234 жыл бұрын
crazy how the 4 best players in this draft had their careers derailed by devastating injuries
@ztlabraptor2114 жыл бұрын
PG and Hayward weren’t really derailed . Hayward’s been almost as good now as he was at his best, just in a more limited role, and PG had his best season last year
@Kirbystare19924 жыл бұрын
Josh anytime you lose a year or more in an already short nba life span(in general). I consider it derailment just like Kobe with Achilles KD etc. Hayward was just now picking it up 3 years later after the injury before inconsistent for the most part so yea some derailment.

It was a bad decision to the Thunder trade Eric Bledsoe. He would halped the Thunder in 2011 to 2013 with his defense or move him to SG. Maybe in 2014 if he had not demanded a trade.

At the 15 minute mark Bill says one absolute truth; stop using statistics to make a case for how good a player is. Numbers in losses aren't an achievement
