Just completed this job on my wife's '09 Murano. Thank you Michael for posting the video. It made the task manageable and I saved ~$500 in dealership labor. For me it was fairly easy to just remove the intake completely instead of rotating it off to one side. I used your idea with the pick and was able to remove the remaining wires and an electrical connector without much effort.

word to the Nissan owners. my Nissan murano 2012 uses NS-2 fluid. the capacity is 7.9 quarts. however, if you are not flushing the converter, just replace what you drain. the dip stick is kind of tricky to take out but nothing to it . Be patient. the NS-2 is like $25.00 per quart. or it will void the extended warranty. If you don't want to mess with the maintenance then buy a new one every 3 years. (just joking) there many videos on the Nissan murano maintenance.

I followed step for step, it took 5 hours but I saved $250 in labor! the 1 thing that bracket at 9:18 it very difficult to take out and put back in, need a small socket wrench. please be careful with those valves connected to plastic they really break. this an excellent vid for DIY. NOW please make a vid on removing the racket n pinion, my steering wont return to center without manually doing it. thanks!

Thank you for posting this video. it made an intimidating job a breeze. Only thing I would add is to remove the brake fluid container(two 10mm nuts). Made the intake slide out of way easier.

My mom was just quoted $650 for this, (2023 in NJ) can anyone tell me what you were quoted? To me 650 sounds a tad high and I was expecting in the $400. The $650 included plugs but I think I'm going to buy the plugs because they usually use the cheapest plugs that are OEM. What price were you quoted for this and where? Also I was thinking the NGK Iridium IX Plugs or the NGK Ruthenium HX or the NGK Laser Iridium I like NGK but I also see the Autolite Iridium Iridium XP works and that one has good reviews.

Im not a mechanic but I can do minor work. My coil just went out in the 3rd position. I saw your video, YOu did a great job explaining the operation. Should I expect the mechanic to replace the sparkplug if he replaces the coil?

I'm going to say from other videos I have seen either a careful inspection or replacement of the rocker covers would be in order when you're doing this service and maybe a throttle body clean.

nobody mentions what the spark plug gap is supposed to be it's not in my manual and I don't have a repair manual just the owners manual which is junk
@michaelbragg72167 жыл бұрын
Not sure the gap, should be under the hood if not contact auto zone or OREILLY they can provide that

my friends repair manual says 2007 and earlier models, Type: NGK PLFR5A-11... 2009 later models, Type: Denso FXE22HR-11... gaps are 0.043 inch.

The plugs come gapped properly from the factory - no need to adjust.
@r3alfish6 жыл бұрын
Actually Worthy to note here, trying to gap an iridium or platinum plug can actually damage the plug. They come preset before shipped. You can check it carefully but never pry on the electrode by using a spark plugs gapper like on the older plugs. The piece of iridium or platinum at the center of these plugs is very brittle and thin. It will crack and chip easily.

Good video man. Ppl typically are afraid to service their own cars and end up spending hundreds or even worse getting ripped off. This should really help out some ppl. I looked it up to see if you needed to remove the windshield wiper plastics to get behind it. But looks like u had no trouble.

Changed the plugs on my 2010 Murano this afternoon, and this video was invaluable. Took about 2 hours as I was going nice and easy. One thing I was not clear on is whether or not I needed to remove the two front bolts for the shroud, or if I could just pop it off the rubber grommets and then pop it back on. I went ahead and removed them - the hidden one would have been awful if I'd not had a ratcheting crescent wrench. Also I used a 14mm thin wall spark plug socket. Figured since everything else on the vehicle is metric, why not? Your narrative and description of what to loosen and remove is very easy to follow and thorough, and I really appreciate you making and posting the procedure. While I had that shroud off and before removing the plenum, it was a perfect opportunity to go at the top of the engine with a good brush, a leaf blower, and a shop vac. Also washed the shroud, the air intake, and the top of the air filter box while I had them off. They dried out thoroughly in the Georgia Summer Sun by the time I was ready to put them back on.

Not sure I agree with you on that. When you have some time, search for videos about replacing spark plugs on a 2011-2015 Chrysler Town and Country or Dodge Grand Caravan. You have to remove the upper intake to get to all of the plugs, not just the back three. There was nothing wrong with the way it used to be...I'm not sure why they have chosen to engineer them this way now.

Hey man, do you have a part number of the intake manifold gasket? Is it from dealer only or is it sold at part stores?
@craigjones90166 жыл бұрын
I bought a Fel-Pro brand gasket from Napa. Part number MS 97220. I didn't need it. Even with 90K miles, the original gasket was as clean and pliable as new.

@michaelbragg72167 жыл бұрын
I would not replace the coils unless you have deep pockets and or have an engine light on. If light is on I would suggest changing all coils, not Just one but all. And you dont need to go to a dealer as they typically drain your pocket. OREILLY usually carries a set for around 200.00 or less

@michaelbragg72167 жыл бұрын
About 90k to 120k miles. If you never changed on and are uncertain if they need changed, remove one and compare to a new one. If you see a lot of difference when comparing consult with your local parts people they can provide some guidance

Great video just changed mine and it really helped. My only recommendation is to take the other end of hose off; where it connects to the metal and not the easy to break plastic.
@Nappyrootss4 жыл бұрын
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 ✊🏾I highly recommend this right here... Its so much easier to come off on the metal side and so easy to break on the plastic side Heed This warning and learn from my mistake ✊🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

@@1994burrito I figure you already found this out since it's nine months later but I broke the piece he was demonstrating how to pull the hoses off of & it's called the intake manifold runner solenoid. be very careful with this piece it is pretty expensive.
