It’s kind of scary how fast trends are changing these days because of TikTok. Theres not even enough time to enjoy and wear out a fashion trend before a host of new ones pop up. It’s giving me such whiplash… we just started the y2k throwbacks and already 2010’s is here? It cant be good for the environment for fast fashion and consumers to have to keep up 😬 Edit: I do have my own personal style and only occasionally dip into trends. My comment was more for people who only follow trends and can only afford fast fashion brands, like teenagers.

We're still doing y2k. The fashion industry is still operating on a normal trend cycle. 2010s fashion won't be popular for another 10 yrs. The term microtrends or the trend cycle moving too fast is just fast fashion. People buying a lot of fast fashion. Only wearing them once. And not wearing them again.

I honestly do *not* want the 2010s fashion to come back, we're literally only 2 years into the new decade, i would argue the trauma is too fresh... like even tiktokers have *had* to be alive in the 2010s... that said, your take on them made some of the trends palatable, reminded me of some styling from Sassy (for Emily) and 90s Ralph Lauren (for Spencer)

Although my favorite Hanna era was the grunge faze, I feel like her true style was represented after the time jump (simpler, girly, with lots of labels). Also, let me know if its just me but, now that I look at it Mona dressed just like Aria just in a more girly color pallet( lots of layers, statement jewelry, loud colors and prints)

Spencer was always my fav liar and her style always felt the most timeless to me which is why i always gravitated towards her outfits for inspo, even though i failed miserably considering i was 1. like 10 years old and 2. had no money lmao anyways, you did a wonderful job with this video!

i'm kinda sad that the fashion of my older teen years were spent trying to be business casual 24/7 lol. i prefer the fun colors and patterns of the 2000s (just hated the low rise lol) and i wish i'd spent the early 2010s wearing fun fashion instead of trying to look like i worked in an office, yknow? that being said, i LOVE your looks and i wouldn't mind if the fashion came back like this lol. but let's wait at LEAST a few more years please 😭

I think you did Mona's outfit just perfectly!! Some of my favourite episodes were ones that had some sort of event or school dance. I loved seeing how unique each character's dress was and how it somewhat reflected their personality. Aria always killed it with her dresses. Also loved seeing their halloween costumes

I like the Alison look you came up with. The actress found out she had PCOS and with her weight gain they clearly didn’t know how to style her so she ended up looking like a middle age mom at 17. Also I think that’s why her character goes from mean girl boss to easily manipulated cry baby.

To my understanding it causes weight gain, an increased production of male sex hormones which helps increased hair growth in places males would typically grow hair (chin, upper lip), trouble with fertility, irregular/constant bleeding (I.e having your period for weeks or months at a time), and more. It’s a very difficult thing to deal with but a lot of women have it. Also according to my research there are different types of PCOS and you’re more likely to have it if your mother or sister have it.

WHAT THEY SAYING ABOUT MY GIRL ARIA???? All she did was slay??? Literally her fashion was so iconic and influenced me soooooo much. I used to be so excited just to see what she'd wear every episode. And i would stalk those asseenontv fashion sites to try to find the items she wore and where they were from. I remember being OBSESSED with this one top, and i finally found it and almost managed to buy it but it sold out before i could. it haunts me. For anyone wondering it's the line & dot top she wore in the ep where she tried to seduce ezra in the office. So many sleepless nights over that top lmao. I think my favorite looks were Aria's and Spencer's, especially the former's-the tie skirt outfit looked amazing, even better than hers in the show. I do think Hanna's looks were falling a little behind, and you yourself said she was the hardest to crack, but I still think you achieved it with the first look. I have been WAITING with bated breath for a 2010s style video from you!! “Emily had the sporty tomboy vibe *forced upon her*.” That made me giggle. Okay but to the meat of it. I definitely fancied myself the Hannah style-wise, at the time, but honestly more later season Jenny Humphrey. Maybe it’s just because I was in college when the mains from GG were in college, but I feel like GG was the more refined, less cringe-trendy, more expensive version of the fashion at the time and therefore has aged a bit better (in my eyes). It also was a bit more impactful in my own wardrobe and style since it was just less costumey, overall. I definitely am with others when it comes to feeling old as this fashion has a resurgence - but I literally think that’s because it’s only been just over 10 years since this shit was trending! Not even, really. We’re used to fashion moving in these 20 year cycles and now that it is moving so much faster, it can feel strange. But - on the other hand - the cycles moving faster has seemed to blur everything together & it feels easier now to wear whatever the hell you want, and I love that. Some of these silhouettes of that time I love & still (and have continually done so) incorporate into my wardrobe, and some just make me shiver lol. I can do without the neon “Aztec” print & gigantic fake plastic jewel necklaces, thank you. Edit: I’m hoping you’ll make a short series out of this! I’d love to see Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries/the Originals, etc. (I just looked at a list of the top shows of 2011 & didn’t realize how many were based on Vampires & Werewolves - but this was the Twilight era so idk why that surprised me either lol)

i think when talking about the girls’ styles you have to pretty much only look at season 1 and 2 because after that they veer from their assigned styles quite a bit. aria turns from more dark artsy vibes to hipster and hanna goes from classic 2010s high fashion girly girl to much more alternative almost army style in the later seasons
