I bought this two years ago. I unit every so often doesn’t connect to CarPlay even though I charge the settings to load it up upon turn on. Yes, the interface sucks since it has three sub-OS’s. Upon start up jail broken Andiod OS I think it’s 8 or 9. If you switch to settings they have the built in unknown unit software. These are the main two then you have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (when they work). They said it was going to be upgraded to the latest OS but that never happened. The only redeeming feature is you can take the radio unit out of the holder and replace it with most of the $50 dollar head unit on Amazon.

@@MichaelRiveraBX81 it’s garbage. I hate it so much but I paid $200 so had no option but to use it till it completely dies. My usb connection doesn’t work so can’t charge phone and use CarPlay. I can’t even connect to wifi to watch anything either. It’s straight up garbage and worse radio I’ve ever bought in my life so far. My $60 android radio on another car was better and still working till this day and I can actually update software and stuff.

@@connorthemusicguru690 I wouldn’t waste any money on it. Trash. USB doesn’t work, can’t stay connected wirelessly, audio randomly switches to one speaker and have to go in setting every time to fix it, and there’s no way to open any apps when you’re on the WiFi. Like I can’t even watch KZbin on it. No way to update anything.

Yes they sell out quick because lot of people order them. I had to wait as well and then I got email when they were back in stock. They’ll email you when the head unit is back in stock as long as you put your email in for an alert!

@@francewaa1 yes you basically go in settings and set up your steering wheel buttons! At first it may not work cause they’re not assigned to any function so you’ll have to go in the settings and assign the keys! So far the radio has been great, only complains I have so far is the CarPlay sometimes freezes if you do wireless, but it works perfectly fine if you do via usb. I think it glitches cause there are many Bluetooth devices nearby maybe but not sure. I’m also tempted to upgrade all of my speakers cause I thought adding better unit will help the speakers sound lot better but the stock speakers just suck and not much you can really do to improve it unless you completely replace them.

Mine didn’t work at first. But to make it work is you have to go to steering wheel control settings and assign each keys to whatever function you’re planning on doing!

Be glad if it even turns on. I have issues with mine. Been calling for over 3 months now about a warranty with zero help from them. Wish I bought it from Amazon or ali express instead as they would have a better warranty...

There is app called Zlink that you must open to see CarPlay. Unless you have completely different radio.

I’ve herd you can try to retain the factory usb port. But haven’t tried it yet

How do I play a video on the screen? KZbin…or the like? Can’t figure this out. Have CarPlay if that matters.

So as long as you got android radio, you download KZbin app like you would on a normal tablet/phone from the App Store and then play videos through that. But you can’t stream/download without data. So make sure you either connect your radio to a WiFi or your phone’s hotspot.

On the radio there is a steering wheel controls app where you go and assign each key to do whatever function you choose.

On their website they have very little info about the unit itself. Which one did you install? The x series or the other? Does it have Dsp? Lastly how much is the rms per channel?

I have the x-series. And what do you mean by dsp? And I do not have much detail on the unit as I’m new to android head units in general so sorry I can’t help you with that info.

@@VINCE-oc5xq well so far it’s okay unit. You get what you paid basically….few things stopped working like my usb doesn’t work anymore so can’t do wired CarPlay. Have to use wireless which sucks and is glitchy and also disconnects every time. Random times it will reset the date and time to sometime in 2019. I’ve contacted the people but they wanted me to send the unit so they can mess with it and fix it instead of replacing it. I can’t just send the radio to them like that as I daily drive this car (1hour to work) and can’t find the stock radio anymore so can’t just drive the car without anything. So I couldn’t send them the radio for troubleshooting.

@@VINCE-oc5xq I spent about $220+ on this and was disappointed on how their warranty works. I’ve bought few cheaper android radios before from eBay and they’ve stopped working right and the sellers would just send me new radio and then I box the messed up radio and send that back once the new one comes in. For this one you have to send your radio to them and who knows how long it takes to fix it cause shipping took about a week and half to get to me and their communication isn’t the best. I fell for their nice dash design and bought the radio without doing any research. Should’ve just gotten one from Amazon or eBay like I have in past.

When I first got the radio one of my speakers stopped working and then I took the radio out and checked it and found loose cables on the connector which wasn’t completely snapped in when they created the harness. Luckily I install radios so I knew which wires to look for. My current issue is the USB cable isn’t working anymore. The one that connects to CarPlay. Other usb works fine which only charges the phone. But the one that connects to the head unit and supposed to stream music and CarPlay doesn’t work….so when I have time I need to take it apart and troubleshoot that.

Do not buy this AudioVision car stereos, they are garbage as far as audio quality, interface is laggy even if you buy the better version, too bad because the screen looks great.

EXACTLY! I don’t recommend it either! That’s why I haven’t been posting/sharing links for it when people asking cause I don’t want them to get any business! Mine stop working well after 6 months. Their warranty sucks, radio sucks, customer service sucks. I’m waiting for it to die so I can get better radio.

This radio has been absolute nightmare can’t even do any updates on it, usb plugs don’t work, wireless CarPlay disconnects every time, audio settings keep changing, and random times it deletes everything so have to add your phone all over again. 100% trash 🗑️

​@@Djrulez203then why keep it up? Just delete it. If you feel that it's a bad buy, make an updated video if you're going to keep the video up. There aren't many options out there that are plug and play. I'm considering this unit or one from Amazon with an added 3rd party insurance. Just for peace of mind.

I ended up doing a charge back on my unit when customer service never addressed my issues. Took months for CarPlay to work and the gps still doesn’t work.
