I don't know much about leather tour packs, unfortunately. Never used 'em. But Wompus still makes great racks for the Stratoliners and Roadliners that you can mount a tour pack on. I imagine you could mount a leather one to it. Google Wompus Racks. Hope this helps!

I bought a 2017 roadstar 1700…. I can summit all up quickly by saying, Yamaha did a great engine transmission, but the quality of the rest of the bike was substandard to say it nicely. You don’t see it till you start looking for it, at first glance it all looks really good. Everything‘s metal should be and you purchase it drive it off a lot but the first time you remove the back tire and get a real good look at that rear fender for instance, you’ll realize right away that the bill quality is simply not there. The support system for that rear fender I had to weld a do it yourself bracket to make it work so that my wife could ride with me. Also, the softail suspension that they use is built for.one-up riders only. It was so soft for my wife and I that we bottomed out everywhere we went on the frame. Granted the price is right and these guys are easy to get a hold of which is nice but do yourself a favor if you get a roadstar, remove those passing lamps from your bike and make sure they’re welded properly. Otherwise you may be surprised like I did when they absolutely fell off in the middle of a trip no fun….

Yamaha's Star line went from 1994-5 thru 2016. I'd say that was "a while".

@@JRoss-zxzx - Thanks for the comment! You're partially correct. Although Yamaha has been offering the Star lineup for much longer, it wasn't until 2006 that they spun off the brand into its own separate manufacturing business unit. Similar to how Dodge spun off the Ram brand into its own business in 2011. That's what I'm referring to in this video.
