Yao S. Putting aside the fact that the impression was done in poor taste and unfunny ( audiences' shocked reaction), the stunt cuts perilously close to being "black face".

well, considering the actor was impersonating an african american person(Obama), I think the "black face" is quite on point, just like if I were to impersonate a caucasian I'd put on a light shade foundation. the skit was quite funny to me (my preference to dry humor maybe). But hey it's free country so agree to disagree. :)

I agree in Western societies the act would be considered racist, but without the specific cultural context of Black face, I fail to see how the act can be seen as racist in Taiwan, esp since he obviously did not have either the intention or the action of racist behaviors. This is just a case of Western centric thinking that fails to understand the underlying cultural context.
