I looked this up just to make sure there wasn't something I missed. Nope, I just had to get my pullers and hot wrench out. Life in the rust belt.

Thanks for the video! Quick question, do you recommend an alignment after this replacement? I'm working on my AWD Durango. Thanks!
@MotorCityMechanic
@MotorCityMechanic 5 жыл бұрын
When it comes to hub bearings no. You should be fine unless the alignment was off before already.

So I have an AWD Durango is the only difference from the 2 wheel drive is the axle nut right? Otherwise it's same process?

I have a 2011 Durango and I’ve been getting a medium pitch howl at 40 mph and above. Does not change in turns, gets louder with more speed, stays same both on and off the throttle. It may be me but it seems like gas mileage is going down as well. Wheel bearing, drive shaft? No play or noise at he front wheels when jacked up. I could use your insight!

@@MotorCityMechanic makes sense. I’m here in Illinois. I think manufacturers should be required to apply anti-sease or something of that matter when built. It takes most one’s day just trying to get it off. Great tutorial vid by the way.

Do you have any tips for the AWD front hub? its so tight trying to back the bolts out while the axle is still in. Backed them out until they contact the axle shaft, but cant get the hub to start coming forward to finish backing the bolts out. Any help would be appreciated!!!

does the Oring need to go back on or was that just a miss
@MotorCityMechanic
@MotorCityMechanic 8 жыл бұрын
Good catch......actually the o-ring isn't needed as far as going back. It's used at the factory to hold the rotor in place until the caliper is mounted. Much like the metal clips they use on some years that slide over the wheel studs. Thanks for the question and for noticing. Make sure to subscribe

James Kang Hey James. I don't know right off hand. They don't mention it in the service info and being that I have a set of larger sockets.....I just grab until I find one that fits. Sorry I don't know at the moment

Thanks for the video, it was a huge help. On a 2014 (V6) AWD, the axle nut took a 32 mm. I used a 1-1/4" socket on mine because the nut was slightly undersized and this was a little less sloppy. This nut gets torqued to 185 ft-lb.
