What would be nice is a way to use the Uconnect mirror mics with a aftermarket head unit.

You would think that the aftermarket designs would incorporate the Uconnect factory Mic to connect. But it might be due to the Mygig systems being quite different from each other despite looking practically the same. Some use an external bluetooth module that runs to the mirror mic (RES, RBZ, RHB), and some use a mic that plugs directly to the factory radio (RER and RHR).

Nice breakdown and I'm pleasantly surprised to see you're still replying to this video. I'd like to upgrade the stock head unit in a 1998 5.9 ZJ while keeping it as stock as possible, and I'm considering a RBZ-430 or RHB 430N as its the perfect size for the ZJ dash, while being a huge upgrade for the older jeep while still appearing semi stock. I'm aware its not a plug and play situation. Is there an off the shelf harness adapter to make this work or would it be a custom made harness thats required? Also what else would I need to make the head units fully functional? The ZJ is stock with currently zero form of sat nav system, or cut wires. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately we only sell radios and equipment for vehicles that are 2001 and newer. 2001 was a major year for radio equipment and anything older than that does not have the CAN-BUS network required for the 430N and 430 systems.

My 2012 minivan came with the 2nd best head -- the one without Garmin. I wish it had Garmin. But ideally, I'd like Apple/Android. However it seems Chrysler doesn't offer such an upgrade, is that correct? Would have to swap it out for a 3rd party device like Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC which comes with Apple Car Play/Android Auto, and (hopefully) works with the existing features like reverse camera.

Yes that is correct. Unfortunately there is not an OEM option that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the Grand Caravan. The only option for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto would be aftermarket.

For the 430N RHB does it have uconnect as well

The 430N RHB is capable of Uconnect, but the Uconnect feature is not built into the radio. The 430N RHB uses an external bluetooth module known as the Uconnect Hands Free module. If you search Uconnect High or Uconnect Low on our website you should find the appropriate listing for that kit. Certain vehicles use a high speed canbus, and the radio and module will also have to be high speed. Same applies to Low speed canbus in vehicles. Our vehicle compatibility on those kits will give you further details on what vehicle is high, or low. If the vehicle has Uconnect and the radio is the digital clock display unit, the 130 RES, then the RHB will retain that bluetooth module that the RES was using before. Alternatively, if the vehicle does not have Uconnect whatsoever, I would recommend upgrading to the 730N RHR (Since it has bluetooth/uconnect built into the radio) and you would just plug a UConnect microphone to the back of the radio between the main plugs.

Did I understand that correctly? The 430N and 730N have native Bluetooth and do not require an additional Uconnect module?

The RHR730N factory navigation radio has built in bluetooth for voice commands/audio streaming and hands free calling. If you had hands free calling already you would need the jumper cable to use the current mic, If not you would need the mic for the RHR730N. The RHB Garmin based factory navigation radio would needs the hands free calling kit with the mic if you don't have that function already. No we unfortunately do not have support for the existing camera as that has been pinned into the vehicle. We can replace that camera but our aftermarket camera ends in an RCA input. I have a 2013 GCV with the RES radio and i tried installing a known working RHR radio and it doesn’t turn on. Just the buttons light up for a few seconds and turns off. If i press the open close button the screen turns on and shows the splash screen and then turns off. Im i missing something?! Please help!

You can try our reprogramming service but if that part did not come from our facility it may be hard for us to diagnose without bench testing it. Hi is it possible to use a factory stereo in another car like a 2013 Dodge caravan Uconnect stereo it had steering wheel controller for volume and in the 2007 Dodge charger it does not have any steering wheel controller for volume they both are double din stereos. I did install the caravan stereo to the charger but the screen is black when I put power plug in the plug spot and the other two cables in the fitted spot and it had 3 more cables but the charger only had 3 cables coming from the car do you think that I would need a wire harness to install the caravan stereo to the charger or is it not possible to add a factory stereo?????????? Please help

Hi there, So it is possible, however the issue here is that both of those vehicles have conflicting canbus speed. The Dodge Caravan uses a high speed bus, while the Charger uses a low speed bus. This basically means that the vehicle's computer/BCM is unable to talk to the radio because the radio only communicates for what it was manufactured for. As for the connections, the only thing I can think that changed from 3 to 2, is the GPS/XM/AM/FM antenna. In 2007, the blue was GPS, and the yellow was XM. In 2010, the GPS and XM were combined into the yellow connector. So if you're referencing a blue antenna, you just need a multiplexer to combine them. Hi there, So if you currently have an RES (Digital Clock Screen) and factory bluetooth, then you'll also need the jumper kit if you wanted to do the RHR. You also will need a GPS antenna if you do not have one currently. We sell the multiplexer which comes with a GPS antenna on our website, just search the word "multiplexer" and it should be the only result. If you do not have factory bluetooth, all you need is a microphone and you'll gain bluetooth phone and music streaming with the RHR as the bluetooth is built into the radio. If you currently have bluetooth and want to upgrade to the RBZ or RHB, you will not have to do anything with the bluetooth module, as it uses the same one that the RES would use, so it's plug and play. The RBZ doesn't have navigation, so you do not need a GPS antenna, but the RHB will need that gps antenna multiplexer.

If this was ordered through us and already has the Vin programming then you should see the a sticker in the box with the Anti-theft code. My rbz screen is cracked (so touch not working but audio from DVD is working)and my middle drop down is blank. I have a few questions...Is the middle screen being blank have to do with the dash screen (rbz) being cracked....and if I change the rbz screen like this video.
