I think if you're Leanne Hulsenberg (wow-it's hard not to Say Barrette), you watch the trip four in the eleventh by Barnes, and you're not thinking Barnes will tally eight on the fill ball. But the ball goes way high, and Hulsenberg makes another US Open final. Wow. Mr Irish Pogi, thank you so much for posting this video. It really helps. -Tom McElheney, Bowling World Magazine

well put!! the amount of focus it takes to compete on tv.....in front of thousands...and the millions watching at home.....and to bowl well in a tight situation even though u dont bowl as much as u used to......lynda barnes is a top tier competitor!!! i take my hat off to her

@bgmnzz I'm not saying they didn't bowl well (they are professionals, after all), it's just that if you look at Lynda's scorecard it looks like she bowled a significantly better game than what you usually see on TV. Usually you see two or three shots where they don't keep up with the transition, or pull/leak it a little bit. Lynda did in fact pull a couple of shots in each match, but they held because of the oil. And, unfortunately, in the tenth they were pulled consecutively more.

GREAT MATCH. Is Barrette-Hulsenberg rolling a Cyclone by ebi, or a Game Changer or what!? Looks even and SICK!

@bgmnzz That's right. I totally forgot all about that. : /

@bgmnzz No, I think that's a choke. Look at how each shot in the 10th her angle straightens out a little more. Although her scores don't show it because she got some good breaks, she was fighting doing that a couple of shots each match, and that's definitely a big no no on that right lane. And if the ratio wasn't 5:1, that would have looked like a mega choke.

I still can't figure out how Leanne get's the ball speed she gets. Her approach seems to take all of the momentum away. But then her release is about as smooth as I've seen, and somehow she generates decent speed.

@bgmnzz That's adding insult to injury when an excuse such as an injury is the reason you lost. It's like telling someone that they aren't better than you; they were only better than you because you weren't 100%.

I disagree with choking being the Barnes' tradition. Lynda didn't open in the 10th frame unlike Chris who can't even make a single pin spare in the 10th frame. There is a difference. Lynda needed 29 pins in the tenth to tie. She had to beat 247. Different than Chris who needed only to beat a 200 to win the 2008 ToC, and all he needed was 15 or so pins in the tenth or something like that.

Poor Lynda she did not know she lost by 1 pin 247 to 246.Lynda thought she was in the final's vs Kulick.

Lynda is way better than Chris as far as I'm concerned. But all of us bowlers have eased up on a clutch shot now and then. I'd bet on Lynda to crush the rack in that situation 9 times out of 10. Oh, and by the way, she doesn't bowl as much as she used to now that she's raising a family. No choke, I say things happen some times. And Leanne always had the magic touch in the clutch. Almost as many TV appearances as Walter Ray or Pete!

@hisbassness I didn't make my point clear. After Lynda lost the match, it was revealed on air that Lynda pulled a muscle in her forearm during the match. It affected her release and she eventually lost. I would bet on Lynda against anybody except maybe Kelly K. in a money match. Pound for pound anybody(okay except Walter Ray and Mika now that he's hot). Lynda would certainly do well on everybody who was on TV on Dec. 11th.

No this was a far more easier pattern. The sponsors of this event and the tournament management had the audacity to use an easier 5:1 pattern that was 39 feet in length. Why? They are of the mindset "higher scoring pace = more entries!" What's the sense of averaging 200 for this event and not even come close as opposed to being above the cashing cut averaging 200? SMH
