I used Motologic, a professional automotive repair source for technical information. There are others that should should also have been able to provide it such as Shopkey Pro, Chilton's and Alldata. The information is originally provided by GM to it's service techs and may also be available through your dealer if you ask nicely.

Hello. I am having this same isdue with 2014 cruze. Ive replaced ground cable,battery,and starter. Still intermittent start.Normally after Ive drove car and let it set for a while. Still warm. No crank. Let it set and usually starts. May be 5 mins or may be few hours. I have a snapon solus scan. I can read engine sensors when its running. When it goes into no start my scanner says no connection and I cant see any engine sensors. Not throwing any codes until I keep trying to start and get stabil track light and power steering.once car starts they go away. I tried un plugging both cam sensors and still no crank.could this still be the exhaust cam sensors. I figured it would crank with the sensor unplugged but it wont. Let car set there and usually unhook battery cables for hour or so it will start and always runs great. Sounds just like cam sensor winding down and not reading any rpm. Whats your thoughts on this.Wish I could get a reading from the ecm when it acts up.

Wow great video. Thanks for making it. Different cars they have different logic controls for starting vehicle. specially when pcm or bcm is starting the engine and not just a starter relay from ignition. Makes diagnostic time consuming as one have to learn what parameters computer is looking for.

hey yall, just updating my comments about the problems I was facing. Problems: Got a p0366 code one day (camshaft position sensor b which is the exhaust side). Mechanic cleared the code and told me I'd need to change it but it is OK to drive (which was wrong). Car started to crank w no start-then didn't start at all. Heard the relay clicking but no start. Jump started and the car started but every few times I'd have to jump start it. While driving my voltage would be 15-15.2v. Thought it was a bad alternator(wrong).Thought it was the power cables (wrong). I'd end up adding alot of new parts. Solution: Changed the camshaft posistion sensor b. followed this video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHjHfXVtYrWbbdE ) and this video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ3PeXuEptiBsLM ) to install it. Took less then 15 minutes and now my voltage is back normal 12-14v and no..no starts(for now). Turns out the faulty CMP was telling the car it was on so it wouldn't crank. Everytime I plugged out the CMP it would start so I knew it was that.

Thank you for sharing this information. This happened to my friend's 2011 Cruz today (3/8/20). We thought it was the battery. I removed the battery and took it to the auto part store to have it tested. It took about an hour to get the battery charged and tested. The battery was determined to be good. I reinstalled the battery and it would not crank. My question is with the battery being out for more than an hour would it reset the CMP sensor where the car would have started? I will check the fuse tomorrow morning and make sure I am getting voltage to the starter. Is there a way to test the camshaft sensor? My last resort will be to replace the camshaft sensor.

This fault is not something that will reset with a battery disconnect. In this case it was very intermittent. If you watch in the video you can see the CMP activity taper off after a few minutes of the key being on so that may work for you. Don't for get to check your basics like the theft system, fuses and the starter relay.

Thank you man, so i just removed the exhaust cam sensor it now starts.. do i replace it the sensor? I find it odd because i have some extra from another doner car and i tried them both it didnt start. Now that i disconnected it. Its starts fine😐

S Morris yes. I have. if your standing in front of the car it's on the top left side of engine. you will notice it cause it's a white plastic piece with one single bolt holding it in and a wire plug on it. the one to the front of the car is exhAust and the one closest to firewall is intake. i looked in auto zone for a pic of the replacement part and that helped me find it. But my problem turned out to be a relay. the ignition relay and it was the same symptoms as this video. there are three same relays in the box by the battery one ignition one for radiator fan control and one for a.c. radiator fan. i switched the fan relay for ignition and it started. i went to parts store got a new one for 22 bucks. good luck

I have a 2014 Chevy Sonic 1.8L, recently I've been having problems with the car staying running after remote start, I know that each remote activation has a 10 minute run time and can only be used twice but sometimes my car will only run 1 or 2 minutes and shut off, any ideals on what would cause this to happen?

Why dont you start with that check engine light, then, procede from there. Pull out the trouble codes.

The check engine light was on because the car was not yet running. No DTCs were stored for this issue as the PCM really "saw" nothing wrong.
