Just another Video about the Clicking Noises sometimes heard in the Chevy Impala. This is a classic noise and normally you will find one or the other Actuators to be Bad.
Passenger Side is more common in my opinion but could be easily on the other side as well.
Here are both of the Numbers.
ACDelco Blend Door Actuator Pass. Side ACD 15-74122
ACDelco Blend Door Actuator Driver Side ACD 15-74123

So, I've spent about a year wondering what that ckicking noise was. Then, while searching for a video showing how to replace the cabin air filter, I stumbled upon this video. Parts are on order. Thank you.

I have a 2011 Impala as well and it's clicks, too. It's had 3 actuator replacements already by the previous owner. It doesn't affect the air flow (I see my breath with the ac running lol) so I'm not worried about it. Eventually will have it replaced.

Instead of trying to remove the glove box pins, just remove the 4 phillips screws and the 3 7/64 hex screws for the handle, and take the box part off. Much easier.

I just replaced my actuator on the far right side two days ago , think it’s called the blend door actuator. Was great yesterday but popping today, not as much but still popping. Should I be worried? I heard something about a recalibration..... fairly pissed at actuators 🤣

Yes some have the option for re-calibration in most cases that should no the an issue. I do however not know how to do that procedure without a scan tool. Here in the Shop I use the GM Tech 2 so I do not know what to tell you.

Will these actuators affect over all air flow? I just replaced a blower motor and an actuator on my 2013 Impala that looks extremely similar to this one and the same actuator went out, the one you just replaced and I don’t have air flow and it’s been only 6-7 months. I’m going to go buy the actuator to replace the new broken one now but I’m kind of at a loss on what’s going on or why it’s happening again (although they are the cheap Chinese doorman brand that you mentioned here).
@ralfsautomotive

You have to test and make sure that the blend door can move freely. Other than that, Dorman is pure junk.

Trying to get some information for parents car they have 2011 Impala it makes that clicking sound on driver side when unlock or locking the doors with remote wondering if thats same issue. It also makes same clicking noise when I move button to hot or cold for driver side I'm assuming that's accuator as well. I do believe both sides have to be replaced but I see you say there's 3 all together, is the third one in the glove box area as well.

@@daakrolb There were 3 of these blend door motors(604-108) on my 2008 Impala. And a different motor(604-134) for the vent/floor/defrost/etc modes. Identical to the car in video. Dual climate control. If there is only a single climate control, then there are only 2 blend door motors. The 604-108 is Driver temp control above gas pedal(hard to change but doable), Passenger temp control(easiest to change) which is the one he changed in the video and fresh air control (medium difficulty). If you look into glove box in video, it is in upper right corner close to firewall. I changed it by sitting in drivers' seat and leaning on passenger seat. Easy peasy. The 604-134 for selecting the mode is to the left about 4" from the one he replaced in the video.

@corvettebob96
@corvettebob96 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would solve this issue but possibly create another. 1998 F150 had an issue where the blend door shaft would break. Actuator worked great until the shaft broke. There was a patch kit but it was hit or miss. Only proper way to fix would be to remove entire dash and plenum to replace the blend door. My fix for a rusted out, oil burning truck was to cut a hole in plenum and use a coat hanger to hold door open or closed. Adjust wire in Summer and Winter. I would rather replace the weak actuator instead of the blend door.
