2011 Dodge Charger Water pump replacement

I noticed some water and a stain on the front of my engine. It appeared to be coolant.

I have the same car with the exact same amount of miles , after I changed my water pump I didn’t see leakage until 2 weeks later there was a small drip line . After the car warms up it goes away

So you should have used Mopar pink coolant! The days of sticking green and yellow in are gone!

Did you use the rubber gasket sealant on the screws before screwing them back in? Thats 100% needed ?

Actually none of them seemed to go into a water passage but I did put sealer on the longer ones.

not water pump related but my belts on my 2011 charger keep fraying on Inside edge. it looks like your belt sits more square on tensioner then mine does any ideas on what may cause that?

could be a bad bearing in one of the pulleys

I changed my Thermostat but my 2012 dodge charger SE is still running hot, but I can't tell if my water pump is leaking and I'm guessing it's because of the plastic bottom piece i saw you remove?

Look down from the top with a flashlight. If its wet you definitely have a leak. Check if your reservoir is empty also.

Same thing with me 3.6 2013 changed the thermostat twice now back overheating a week later. What else do u suggest I should do next

Anybody else have a hard time or tips on getting the waterpump out after all the bolts are removed? The 1 in the video popped our pretty easy

No I did not but if yours hasn't been done in a while I would recommend it.

I just changed mine out on 2012 dodge charger..I ended up taking off thermostat and housing just so I could get to it...

The majority of the ones I have purchased are good. There is normally a star rating next to the parts list on the sight from other people whom have purchased the part.

Yes they are, they sell same brands as in autozone or advanced and also have cheaper ones

How many times in your ownership of the car did you have to replace the water pump and radiator? or after how many miles?

@@MaxAC Interesting. I have a 2013 Charger sxt and surprisingly had to change out the radiator at 78,000 something miles and more recently at 125,500. It is kind of surprising and the same applied to the water pump. My temperature gauge kept going up to hot and despite a new coolant cap, the problem couldn't be detected. the thermostat was also replaced. IDK what it is but was unsure if I was getting ripped off or not.
