Thank you! All the other videos I watched are in reference to sunroof not map lights. Thank you again!

Wake up this morning and found the same issue in my 2011 Explorer. It rained last night and my 4 way flashers had been on since 10PM or so. Drained the battery way low. Now I found a lot of water in the front passenger floor board. I disconnected the battery for now ( recharging at the moment. Wonderful *****************

It sucks for sure, if the 4 ways are stuck on and it's the same as mine with the touch button, the only fix is a Front Interface control module. And it's like $600 from Ford. If you've got a sunroof check that first, plugged drains can cause the same issue. Hope you get it figured out. Feel free to reach out if you need help. My email is in my channel page.

Same thing .... perfectly described ... for now the battery is disconnected and I hope it all dries out . Wonder how much a windshield costs? I doubt my insurance will cover it...

So what I found put the hard way is once water gets in the touch switch it never dries out. I was never able to get the lights to turn off until I replaced the module ($400 from ford) the about 14 months later ice cream got spilled on the switch and it would randomly turn the hazards on in the middle of the night and kill the battery. And since ford only offered a 12 month warranty, I got to spend another $400. The part in question is the front interface control module or FCIM, it's plug and play and installs pretty easy with basic tools. Follow up thought is if it's just a leak and you don't need a new windshield, having the glass removed and resealed is probably less than replacement. Another thing I learned after this saga is that the 2012 uses a physical button not the touch button, I wonder if that module could he replaced into a 2011? I hope you get it figured out! If I can help any more please let me know.

@@RogueWrenching did your temp go down or up on its own too?

@@sindikit No, the only problem I had was the Hazzard switch. I opened up the module to try and dry it out with no luck. But I assume all of the touch buttons are probably just as susceptible to water as the Hazzard button.

Did you replace the windshield and did that fix the issue? Same thing is happening to mine, and we had the windshield replaced in the past couple of years, I'm thinking they didn't seal it properly.
@RogueWrenching2 жыл бұрын
I had the windshield replaced and it's been almost a year with lots of rain and no leaks. I had a company do the work that warranties their work against leaks so I'm covered in case of a future problem. I'm not sure if the leak was from the factory or a replacement windshield prior to my ownership.

@@RogueWrenching Did you also have to replace the A arm trim? I have the same issue.

@RogueWrenching did the new windshield work?
@RogueWrenching3 ай бұрын
Yes, new windshield fixed the leak. And an FCIM to turn off the hazards.
