Its the ideal design. Integral oil drain diffuser allows for low speed oil catching

20 year Chrysler engineer here. I’ve helped design Chrysler chassis and sub frames for various models. and the reason we couldn’t place the oil drain assembly to avoid spill on the sway bar is because of the diametric spheroid gears were in panspermetic boloid stators, that had to remain in perfect cross merek with the pre-lubricated turbo encabulators.
@RogueWrenching2 күн бұрын
Yes but, if you had simply used ford's design using a winding of the normal lotus o delta type placed in the panendermic semi-boloid slots of the stater, with every 7th conductor being connected by a non reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdle spring on the up end of the grammeter. Then we wouldn't have this issue.

It all fairness, the sway bar is not the problem. The problem is the drain hole. They could have just moved in to the side, but no

Much easier than cutting a bearing. Nice
@RogueWrenching2 күн бұрын
I think it the easiest way to do it, and there almost no heat transfer to the hub, its warm but you can hold it immediately after the race drops.
@brtecson3 күн бұрын
can you fit a torque wrench in there to tighten the drain plug? or do you just crank it 1/4 turn past finger tight and say "close enough"

not a bad idea, i just melt 3/4 through and tap off with a chisel
@RogueWrenching3 күн бұрын
Using this tool you only heat the race enough to drop it off. And because you heat it evenly there is almost no heat transfered to the hub so that you don't change the temper of the hub material.
@flacarpetracer3 күн бұрын
@@RogueWrenching i understand, but us really really old guys that have been doing this stuff for over 50 years, we are stuck in our ways. and your tool wont do a rear axle race or anything that has a solid shaft like a pinion bearing ect ect
@RogueWrenching2 күн бұрын
@flacarpetracer sure, this tool was designed and manufactured in house specifically for front hub bearings. It also has been used and works well with rear doff carrier bearings.
@steadyclouds46144 күн бұрын
Well yeah but its just an oxy acetylene torch lol although definitely a cool way of using it
@RogueWrenching3 күн бұрын
The difference here is that almost zero heat gets transferred to the hub. It's warm to the touch but not hot after removing the race.
