The Ford F-150 Raptor is the kind of truck hard-core driving enthusiasts dream about but few manufacturers would dare build. Our impressions of the 2010 Raptor were so positive we wondered if Ford engineers could make the 2011 model any better. Thanks to a substantial bump in horsepower, a manual control feature for the automatic transmission and the addition of a roomier Super Crew body style, the answer is a resounding yes. After spending another three days putting it through its paces for this video, the Ford F-150 Raptor remains, without a doubt, the most fun pickup truck we've ever driven.

Just re-realized my love for the gen one Raptor. I remember seeing one for the first time in Blue Flame when I traveled to Niagara Falls when I was 12 (I’m 24 now). Even tho the newer Raptors may be more powerful and more capable then ever, I still think it’s amazing to look back at where the Raptor started, and it’s beautiful❤

I've always loved the Raptors. It is/was one of the few concepts that actually made it to market as cool as it was on the convention floor. I'm pleasantly surprised that it has lasted this long too, going on at least a decade now?

@seomoz too expensive for carbon fiber although Im totally down for the weight loss. No way they can replace the engine tho. If they are going to make a bigger engine the should put a 427(7.0L) supercharged. That would be awesome!

@12valvepower1 Would probably mess up the weight balance they have. Diesel blocks are heavy and would add more weight to the truck and would be dragging that nose end down a lot more while probably also taking way a bit from suspension travel capabilities.

@TripleXXX8700 You can get one with options for UNDER 45K so yeah, and the market is for truck buyers who want to have some fun while still being able to use it every day, and tow things like dune buggies or off-road bikes or stuff. Really, for the price yuo just can't beat it.

I think I just went from a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ guy to a 2011 Ford F-150 Raptor guy in 3:59 minutes! If I tryed ANY of that in my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado I would blow-up my engine or snap an axle or probably even both!
