2011 Grand Cherokee roof leak solved

It turned out that it wasn’t the sunroof after all. I just taped across the opening with gorilla tape in a spiral around the hose.

Maaannnnn...you just saved me some serious $$$$. I had someone literally do a deep water leak test throughout the entire car and was told they can't find anything. BUT, when it rains (and we've had a TON of rain this summer in CT) and our Jeep is in the driveway...and parked at a slight angle backwards, the water pools up in the floor mat... ALL. THE. TIME! Thanks for this video. Time for some "FLEX SEAL!" LOL

Like the rest of the thread I’m also having this issue. I thought it was the antenna since it is broken. I’m going to try some silicone sealant and some gorilla tape see how that works

Thanks for this video! I just started noticing this leak in the exact same spot on my newly acquired 2011. The exact grommet you pointed out is pretty disintegrated on mine. So now I'll try the Gorilla patch and seal. 🤞

Thanks a lot ,, I saw that little rubber thing but I was going to replace the whole cargo door upper seal as it looked dry and deteriorated.. will start with that grommet Thanks heaps

Im literally having the same issue with my jeep 2012! The spare tire area is full of water & i too noticed the leak right on that spot. Ima have to check those seals you noticed worn out.

I ended up taping across it in a spiral and I haven’t had an issue since. I used black gorilla tape

Yes, I put gorilla tape around the opening and it stopped the leak completely. I show it on my other vid that I did of the truck- I taped across it like a spiral around the hose/wires

I used gorilla tape to tape across the opening and hose in a spiral to where they are completely enclosed. Never had the leak or any associated issues again.

Your jeep looks EXACTLY like my 12! And i have the same issue! i found the same grommet. but mine was torn up really bad! so i came on youtube to see if anyone else had the same problem And loe and behold YOUR video pops up!! ecatrly the same. I skimmed through the comments as well. its just a poor design i guess. But anyway, hopefully u cant tell me...did that solve the problem? if so then i think i will try some freat stuff or something as replaceing the grommet would be a ton of work. I just used gorilla tape to tape across the opening in a spiral. This immediately and permanently resolved this issue!

Flex seal is what the mechanic at my work recommended ( you can also replace it but it’ll be more expensive lol)
