2011 Red Bud Lucas Oil 450cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship (Round 6 of 12)

This is round 6 of the 2011 Lucas Oil 450cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship from Red Bud Track-n-Trail in Buchanan, MI. This will likely be the last full season of Motocross you will see on my channel.
Returning contenders like 450cc rookies Jake Weimer, Christophe Pourcel, and Trey Canard, Ryan Villopoto, Josh Grant, 450cc sophomores Justin Brayton and Brett Metcalfe, 2009 champ Chad Reed, Andrew Short, Mike Alessi, Michael Byrne, Davi Millsaps, and defending champ (and 450cc sophomore) Ryan Dungey battle it out for the 2011 Lucas Oil 450cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship. After being released from Monster Kawasaki in late 2010, and all the factory slots taken for the year, Chad Reed decides to dig into his own pockets and form his own team of TwoTwo Motorsports Honda, which (after a slow beginning in Supercross) christens a spark in Reed's confidence and season for almost all of 2011. This series features a 3-rider battle between Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, and Chad Reed. Chad Reed gets back on the winning track for motos with a win in moto #1.

Oh hell yes! How I didn’t know this round had been out here for so long is beyond me, but I am definitely gonna hit it up as soon as I get done watching Muddy Creek today. Jake Heke, you can go cram yourself, because I have looked for this round and apparently he’s the only channel who has it at any picture quality at all.

Glad you were able to find this. Reed was looking really good for MX title #2, and I really think that title would've been his had it not been for that 2nd moto at Millville.

Totally , 2011 was one of those seasons in which, of a person didn’t watch every moto, they probably wouldn’t realize just how on point Chad was up until that Chadapult crash. It’ll be a bit of a shame for Chad that a lot of those people who want to know who was on top that year will look up who won the championship to sort of make their assertion, without looking at the results from each round. I still get stoked as hell when I watch those early rounds and think about all the shit talkers who wrote him off. It’s the same deal with watching the early rounds of the 2013 Supercross season, and Davi’s resurgence.

I know. I am one of those people who does realize how up to par Chad was in '11. Unfortunately, as a Chad Reed fan, this season (2011) went from a dream to a nightmare in a matter of several races (almost like Pastrana in the 125s in 2001). I was excited myself to see Reed back for A1 2013, but 2013 was practically the year besides 2018 where I almost never cheered or had anything to cheer for. Davi Millsaps' resurgence was a shocker to me because Millsaps is one guy I'd have never picked as a title contender. As a Chad Reed fan, I can honestly say that 2012 was just too depressing after Dallas, and 2013 was just frustrating. 2014 was almost a repeat, and 2015 was slightly frustrating outside of Atlanta.

Yep. Those first few 2014 races were awesome too. Oakland I believe, was Chad’s first win of that season and I was loosing my mind when he passed Stewart. The cherry on top was the pure comedy that ensued when the Ryans both fell in the final turn! Ricky’s reaction, “oh my gosh, I can’t believe it!” was absolutely hilarious hahahaha.
