I can't put my finger on why, but the solid axle swapped trucks just look way better then the IFSs to me. I dream about doing something like this to my stock 06 2wd duramax, but my Jeep seems to always win my extra $$.

Just a FYI the '17 and up Dana super 60 has 1550 steering u-joints, 10" ring gear, bigger bearings and has a 7000lbs axle rating '16 and down the front axles are nearly identical but have smaller steering u-joints and bearings however the '17 and up has bigger guts as mentioned....my Dana super 60 came out of a rear end wrecked 2019 Super duty for my solid axle swap dmax

Nice clean and simple yet more than durable build. Looks good guys.

Love the build as always!!! Extremely nice!!! I think for me, I’d have to have the steering stabilizers moved from the front somehow. I know I would destroy them in that location. But that location may be perfect for the guy or gale that own this beautiful rig. Thanks for another awesome build.

I’m debating to either sell my 2015 Silverado 1500 or buy a ford hd.. but if I keep my Silverado 1500 I’d consider putting in a solid front axle, if I did put in a sfa I’d much rather have the tie rod up out of the way higher that the centre of the axle, now if a company came out with a kit for the 1500 with high clearance spindles to keep the tie rods out of the rocks I’d consider keeping the old truck.. any plans on coming out with a 1500 kit? I’d want to use one ton axles on both , the e80 locker hasn’t broken yet, lol. But you know it’s a ticking time bomb

I want to see the ifs next to solid on a mild offroad trail. Thats the main point of switching and there's not a single video of this on the internet.

How much does a build like this cost?

just parts alone is 5-6k or more if you want all the extra parts like the free spin kit and upgraded tie rod, steering gear support and so on. including shop time its honestly probably over 10k.

SAS= rough ride, death wabble and horrible offroad characteristics. IFS with upgraded upper and lower A-arms, heavy duty spindles and coilover conversion is the best way to go. Just my humble opinion. And I drive a SAS 4x4 chevy 3500 van.

If you have death wobble (not wabble), a rough ride, and "horrible offroad characteristics" on your SAS'ed rig then you have the wrong SAS and the wrong (or worn out) supporting parts. This is my rig, and it's amazing. I run a Four Wheel Camper in the back (~1200lbs) and this thing rides amazing on and off road, and it wheels way better than it should for its size/weight thanks to the flex of the SAS, the traction of 37"s (now on 40"s actually), deep gearing and lockers. The truck doesn't look exactly like this anymore; I added a bumper/winch/lights up front, Kelderman rear suspension, the aforementioned 40"s... and it looks like someone drug a rake down both sides of the truck and camper from all the trips and wheeling. I often do 10-12hrs of highway to get to my destinations, then a few nights on the trail. The truck excels and both.
