OMG, Deuel had it 90%, then Efren with that genius shot clearing both balls away and sticking cue all on rail, wow! Then the runout afterwards was crazy, Efren my favorite player for life.

DAMN!!! DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!! What a finish. Just amazing. Another Houdini act by Efren! There are so many of those around! Simply the best. The GOAT. And I give credit to Deul too because he's an excellent player too. Perhaps less experience, or just bad luck. Thank TheActionReport for sharing this video.

The commentators were trashing him all along, until he ran out the last four balls! And then they backpedalled and said after reyes pocketed the last ball..."that was amazing"! What was amazing to me was reyes' left-handed shot with the last four remaining balls of the game.

The magician still has it! Good, got tired of listening to Cardone’s ragging on Efren. Efren used to be his’God’, now it’s like he’s sleeping under the tables and asking for handouts. I guess Billy’s chagrined now that Efren is 70 and still shooting very decent.Taking on pro up & comers and winning more than losing. I don’t and never have cared for Larry Schwartz as a commentator, but do feel sorry for having to sit next to Billy in the booth.Bill is very hard on co- Commentators. Only Danny D. or Grady could hold their own ground against the Cardone. So Larry could only get his Ya know, Ya Know,Ya Know, out about 100 times this match. All and all; a very good match.

Man that has to be one of the coldest handshakes in the history of sport?? 38:42 Reyes shook everyone else's hand before his opponent, zero eye contact with Deuel, no palm, he just grabbed a couple of fingers, and was turning away even before the shake started. Deuel shrugged afterwards as if to say 'What did I do to deserve that?' Did they have some sort of pre-existing beef?

@ugaugauga488
@ugaugauga488 2 жыл бұрын
I would only do that if I wanted to avoid him thinking I was acting like I was superior or something. You don't want to look at the defeated opponent too much or have much contact. But on the other hand, some opponents would prefer the contact, so it's tricky. There's also the question of whether Corey fouled. Some people think he did, and they both knew it, but nothing was said, and they just continued the game.

30:40 I can't believe this: Efren is standing there to see if Corey fouls on the shot. Corey asks him to sit down, goes on to make the double hit and then just keeps a straight face in a game deciding moment, despite that both he and Efren know perfectly well that he fouled. Surely that shot wasn't legal?
@spartanical

The commentators are Billy Incardona & Larry Schwartz. Billy, a One-Pocket Hall of Fame inductee, is one of the best and most knowledgeable 1P players, ever. Larry won the 1993 McDermott Masters One-Pocket Championship and a number of other title in other games. At 33:40, if you are referring to Corey's KICK at the 7 as the long bank, then you are in no position to make foolish comments about the expert commentary provided. Its not just what you can make but what you leave your opponent.

@pingmendoza719
@pingmendoza719 5 жыл бұрын
@@mikeroth5816 as far as i know, when cue ball is frozen with the object ball, you can't hit it directly with a follow through shot into the object ball, otherwise it wd be a foul. I think this makes sense bec then you will be able to generate too much force, if you will, because you are like literally hitting the object ball with your cue. I heard one commentator said during the Efren reyes-Owen matchup, after efren made the same shot, that it was a foul shot and the other panelist said such a rule had been eliminated. As far as i am concerned, I think such a shot is a foul.

In the Philippines they don't even play one pocket billiard game. Reyes must have been taught by other players of the rules when he came here. Reyes advantage on pool games is his being a carom billiard champion and straight pool money game king in his home country.

I can see shooting the 10 ball bank, and drawing back to the foot rail, but it is a risky shot, for the reasons Billy mentioned.. The 9 ball bank was definitely a bad shot, IMO, because the speed necessary to shoot that shot opens up the 2 point bobble, like Billy described, whereas the 10 ball bank would have to be hit much harder, reducing the risk of leaving a short rail bank, even if bobbled..

I don't blame ya if you never heard of this, this game, along with 3 cushion carom, french carom, korean 4-ball carom, english billiard, were not meant to be spectator sports due to the rules they are based on, hence are boring to watch. Other forms of cue sports are much more exciting to watch and have much higher potential expanding and growing in tournaments, sponsorships and generate interest in new players. The aforementioned games have no future.
