Maldanodo...thank you for this step by step instruction on changing headlights on my Yukon. Before I looked up these instructions, I paid Firestone $265 to change one headlight. A year ago I watched this video to change one light and I was successful...and saved close to $240, Today, I changed both lights and the savings are staggering. THANK YOU!!! Keep Grinding my friend, you're a hero.

Hey Maldonado. Thanks for the help on changing out my headlight replacements. I have an 08 Denali, and just in case someone else does, you only need the 10 to complete the job. Thanks again.

Never get your headlights changed Buy a shop that don’t know what they’re doing , I am just saying in general lots of cars get damaged by shops and customers won’t ever know because from outside they look the same . This gentleman just broke both headlights for sure each headlight has 3 screws OK for example the the headlights have 2 screws on top 1 screw at the bottom he never unscrew the screw at the bottom you do not have to take it off but you do have to loosen up the screw so headlights can come out but he did not so when he is telling you did you hear that pop , he just broke both of the lights from the bottom 👁 5:15 Broke the first light at 6:51 he broke the second light , 6:52 He’s telling you do you hear the click ! That’s when he broke the plastic on the bottom 7:44 look when he is removing the wires to the bulb look at the corner bottle you will see where the screw goes and is broke from the bottom

I have a 2008 and did the entire job from the front. My drivers side headlight bulb burned out. I didn't loosen the grill, just the bolt between the grill and headlight. It was tight but it worked. Thanks for the video.

Yeah I don't own a 2011 Yukon nor do I have a car that needs it's headlights replaced. However, YT's algorithm decided this was the video I needed while I schlurped down some spicy Sriracha ramen. I must say, your voice for radio and steady camera hand had me entranced within a matter of seconds. The fuzzy after-effect gives an ethereal feel to this video as if I were in heaven. The sounds of you unscrewing the screws in the headlight are picked up so well, that this deserves an ASMR tag. My boy, you have done it. You have created the finest video to ever be suggested to me regardless of me even remotely searching for a video like this. Ah hell my dog just ate my ramen because I spent too much time typing out this comment. Fuck you dude. You ruined my dinner. Bush did 9/11. What were even in those Clinton emails? PostTail out.

Thanks very helpful. But for 2012 Yukon, there is a screw on the lower bracket (the one that locks into position). Will need to remove the wheel well cover to get to it.

Yes, there is another screw. Our 2011 had a another headlight screw in the wheel well above the bumper that had to come out first. Be sure to do that!!

At 6:50 that "click" but you claim was the guide, is actually the lower mounting screw that melts the lower portion of the light to the quarter panel. How do I know that? Because I just did the same thing following your guide, thanks a lot dude. I really wish I would have bought the Chilton manual instead of watching KZbin and getting advice for this hack job repair.
@MaldonadosGarage Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Not positive how your melting situations applies. I agree, if you have a vehicle and wish to work on it yourself, you should get a manual. Please see the update on the lights video.... I hope this year is better than great for you, Sir. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHfFgX96obegr7M

Don't forget the to loosen the lower bolt, accessible by removing the wheel well liner. Otherwise you will break the lower clip. Just loosening is enough since the lower clip just slides in

The passenger side headlight assembly has the same lower bolt under the bumper as the other side. The pop you heard is likely the point of attachment cracking off.

👋. Hope you are doing better than great. I didn't need to remove or loosen the bolt. There was just enough room to slide them in and out. I am not to savy on updating or adding clips to a published video, but I will look into it. Thanks for your valuable feedback. 👍

perfect video. Thanks. Just one note: I had to go up through the bottom (access from the front wheel well) to loosen a bolt as well. That would be the only thing I would add to this video. Great explanation and video. The 7mm socket will get you through the mud guard. The 10mm closed wrench is the one that you will need to access through the opening to get to that last bolt. Thanks again.

Agreed. I definitely broke the plastic attached to the bottom of the headlamps not knowing there was an extra bolt. But I tightened everything back pretty well, won't notice it unless you have to replace it again.

Really need to edit in the bottom bolt on the headlight assembly so people don’t break that part. Also edit out the part where you open the hood. If you don’t know how to do that, please don’t try to change a bulb.

I did it for me wasn't that hard just took time easier than I thought the hardest part for me was the screw in the bottom where the flap is. And I'm a female that isn't to bright but I learned something today and I'm proud of doing it by myself.

Omg my 06 Ford expedition was so easy u just get the ratchet and pull them out plug and play and your done the hardest job on that Expedition was to take out the mirror lamp bulbs u got to get a special screw to take it out and make sure u don't brake the mirror while doing so anything else easy God damn GM

Very helpful video. I have only worked on Toyota and Honda vehicles before this. Changing a headlight should be a 2-3 minute exercise involving no tools. I can't believe how poorly thought out these GMC headlights are. Lazy engineering or a purposeful way to make work for GM techs. Also the part of the video where you twist the headlight and hear the pop sound is I think breaking one of the internal attachments. I did that after taking out all the bolts and got the "pop" sound but this seems to be the sound made by breaking part of the headlight plastic brackets. Doesn't seem to matter though.
