Same year but no codes, oil pressure at zero when off and always at 100psi when ignition on ON or engine running, you ever come across this? Great vid!

I have the same model/year Cadillac. Bought a GM oil pressure switch online that said it would fit my car but it’s completely different lol. Any chance you have the part # for what you put in?

Definitely what it seemed like, it sucks that sensor is in a really tight spot.

What were your symptoms that required you change this? Was the gauge on the dash pegging to 100?

The sensor was reading erratically, it very could be the sensor. Need to verify 5 volt reference, ground and signal return wire also need to verify the gauge is working correctly as well.

@@drewsshoplife No never hit a 100 just stopped working , one thing I didn’t mention that the car would overheat due to the electric fan not working I recently bought a new one yet to install it only had the car back now for four days but when it overheated temp went fast to 100 then auto shuts everything off

He says the filter isn't fitting correct but yet he continues to reassemble it.

Dang I need to replace mine I got zero readings i’m contemplating to take it to the shop seems extremely tight area and have rather big hands, just had an high output alternator 300 amp installed with 3 big ground zero gage for my high power sound system,

Defiantly a tight spot for us big handed people. What Brand high output alternator did you go with?

@@drewsshoplife Went with a red powder-coded one At 300 amp pigtail had 3 wires the 3rd blue was for battery regulator , my gave back the car said he’ll address the red charging light later if it doesn’t clear one month later the tracking control when out the power steering went out then the everything went out, he later claimed it was a bad alternator it was from JS Alternators I made sure from them a 3.0 it would fit I believe them my installer was just a major jerk so much not mentioned, then he put on the stock one it also was brand new an oem Delco alternator the he said it won’t work my mechanic said his crazy if he thinks all the power amps and multiple batteries and Rodney said a stock alternator will be able to keep up anything I’ll burn it out within a week I believe here but the sound system installer said no it won’t so he installed it then he said it was bad alternator so last alternator I bought one hella cheap compared to js alternator at 650 to 300 I bought it on eBay for 300 at 300 amp with smaller pully it installer said it worked car was down for 4 months, all is working now but the oil gage it’s at zero

@@pgroadglide1581 Wow What a mess, Electronic rebuilt Parts are hit and miss currently , for high output alternators i recommend dc power. I have two of their alternators on my truck and they are great. Ive installed a few at work.

Do you have to worry about spilling oil when you pull the sensor?

Sometimes, some oil will come out, I usually try to remove and install the sensor quickly to prevent a mess.

This will be the second time my sensor has failed in under 10k miles. I wonder if the sensor is repairable; maybe it just needs to be cleaned?

@@jasonrichards9575 how is it failing? Leaking or not working? Where are you getting the part from and what brand?

@@drewsshoplife I had it to a Chevy dealer to repair at 74k miles. They replaced it and the car now has 79k and 2 years later it failed again. It looks like there is a little residue on the part this time but not like the first time; it was saturated the first time. I plan to replace it myself this time with OEM. It failed in a similar manner this time; pegged 100 psi, then sat at 0 psi, pegged 100psi again and now it just sits at 0psi.

I got this repaired today; Oreillys has a super short socket that works well for getting in this tight place. 3/8” drive - no need to remove the airbox. I really think the harness is the culprit but this time around I did the sensor again anyway. 50 psi at idle again… 👍
