Thanks so much I’ve never changed my oil But I’m really considering it after watching this video

Your welcome, once you start doing it you will keep doing it, especially with some of the cost i seen charge now

Good video but I think you should have told what size the oil pan plug was and maybe what size that filter cover hex was. It helps people know what tools to have when they go to do it

Honestly its not hard to grab a set of sockets and check. Especially considering that many repair and replacment plugs are not always oem size. Ran across that many times.

@@EfurdGarage Respectfully disagree I’m a chick about to go do this outside in the hot heat because my driveway is getting work done. Would have liked to know the sizes.
@EfurdGarage6 ай бұрын
@@judithayala345 honestly its always best to check, i could tell you a size, it could be wrong then i hear the wrong size comments. i have bought new oil pan plugs for the same engine from different brands and one can be 1 size bigger the other 2 sizes. seen quick lubes mess up a bolt and throw a bolt in there that has the same threads and the head could be 2 sizes smaller. something like that its best to bring your small socket set under with you and find the one that fits tight. I have bought a few cars in the past that has had spark plug in it for a plug. Its hard to say if those are the factory plugs since so many get messed up or lost.

I like that style of oil filter. Not sure if it's an advantage or disadvantage over the canister style but, it sure seems easier and less messy to change.
@EfurdGarage3 жыл бұрын
you know i will say i kinda agree, you get them from up top, for the most part less messy. I am not sure if it is more efficient then the old style though

Do you know if that Malibu has the CVT transmission (constant velocity transmission), I have heard that the CVT is a horrible transmission. Could you share any info on the CVTs? Thanks.
@EfurdGarage3 жыл бұрын
i want to say its the 6t40. pretty sure its not a cvt. Dont know much about the cvt but i have heard somethings about them. What i gather they are a economy transmission for fuel economy, they dont do well with people who have a lead foot
@hoss19473 жыл бұрын
@@EfurdGarage The CVT is a one speed trans, it is basically a snow mobile transmission, look it up on youtube.

@@hoss1947 i just read about it. Its an odd one compared to the norm.

Does dexos 2 have to be used? I’ve been running valvoline full synthetic in my Malibu and it’s always had the dexos2 logo on it but now I’m noticing it no longer has it. Did valvoline stop making it with the dexos? I may have to switch to pennzoil or Quaker state.
@EfurdGarage Жыл бұрын
Its not that it has dexos in it but its more of gms formula. That is saying it was dexos approved and i believe still is. I personally would just stick with Valvoline it is a good oil.

Crush washer on what? Are you referring to spark plugs?
@herbodiferous775110 ай бұрын
@@EfurdGarageprobably the drain plug! A lot of cars use them, like bronze or copper, gives you a squeeze-kinda feel, like "that's tight enough"
@EfurdGarage10 ай бұрын
@@herbodiferous7751I wouldnt say a crush washer. also on them i am thinking he is mention crush washer on spark plugs, this one is rubber and i mostly all have rubber or plastic on all mine. only see the copper on things like brake lines.
