Out of curiosity, what prompted you to change the spark plug and ignition coil? General maintenance or symptoms that you had?
@Uncleshawny10 ай бұрын
I bought the spark plug socket set with built in extensions from napa and they are magnetic I did this job in under 25 mins.

Nice. I've done a lot of work over the last 10 years on my 99 corolla, was gifted a 2013 sonic with only 106k miles on it,. Not a huge fan of how chevy likes to include a ton of standards in their assembly. Didn't need a torx bit once working on the corolla. Metric, torx, some other kind of torx(the ones around the engine) sae, are a few of the standards I've seen. I'll have to look into what tools I should buy. They did all the scheduled maintenance at the dealership so I'm hoping it lasts me a long time.

Hello just wanted to see if you find the root cause of the spark plug covered in oil ?
@devan58249 ай бұрын
I changed my plugs at found a lot of oil in the spark plug well, I think there isn't a problem with the engine, but rather a problem with spilling oil when putting some in the engine. The filler is right next to the coil pack cover, and spilled oil will end up down by the spark plugs. My car was missing some because of the oil, when I replaced the coil pack and plugs, it stopped.

@@devan5824 its more than likely the valve (camshaft) gasket is bad close to that spark plug or plugs and oil is leaking down into the plug cylinder. its a fairly easy replacement process if you have the right tools (20-200 in.-lb torque wrench, E10 Socket, T30 Socket). its about $25 for the gasket and $6 for the RTV. Dealer replacement can run $1000+ for the job, local mechanics usually around $300-$600. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH22lWChlM2ZeNk

Why was the panel yellow at first then black afterwards? Shouldn’t it still be yellow?

different manufacture, different color to match with that companies color theme. As long as the part meat oe+ exact minimums it will 100% fine. JUST NEVER EVER USE AUTOLITE SPARK PLUGS IN ANY GM VEHICLE
