The base model 2012 Ford Explorer SUV starts at $28,280 and the Limited model has a price of $39,855. The engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 that produces 290 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque while getting 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway.
The 2012 Ford Explorer is definitely at the top of the mid-sized SUV list. It combines outstanding looks, a fuel efficient engine, luxurious interior, and tons of technological features into one great package.

Yes, I realize. However, you cannot "feel safety". It would have been appropriate to say the vehicle is well planted for its size. Jeep has similar crash test ratings and is more capable, as an SUV. The Explorer is a CUV and at the very least, Ford needs to offer the 35EB engine in this!

4:15 "car like feel is safer" isn't true and it doesn't make sense; it's merely a personal preference when you compare the Explorer against the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thank you for this review! I'm in the market for a used , 3 row SUV with AWD. THIS EXPLORER is tops on my list. Still love the style (more than the updated style which looks more like the Range rover) and the interior is roomy enough for almost any task. Thanks again!
