The most Real engine repair video I've seen! Shows every step and every clip instead of just waving your hands and having half the wiring and tubing disappear from the engine like other videos. Also shows how these clips and bolts aren't as easy and "one try" as all those other videos make it out to be. And how sometimes it takes a second or a fifth kind of tool (and a little cursing at the engineers) to finally get something to come free. Thanks for this video.

This was so informative and helpful that I watched it at least twice so that I was able to change the cylinder head gasket on my 2015 F130 ecoboost successfully. Thank you very much. In fact the Repair shop (will not mention a name) diagnosed the problem as a leaking cylinder head gasket, but when I took off the engine cover, I discovered it was the brake vacuum pump at the rear of the engine that was leaking. I can just imagine how much more I would have to spend to get that repair, in addition to the misdiagnosed cylinder head gasket. Keep up the good work.

As entertaining as it is informational! :o) Great details and explanations for folks who might not be as experienced. I did NOT hear the noise that it was making in this video but I have a 2013 EcoBoost been doing it since purchasing 6 mths ago at cold starts but last 4 seconds. Now its louder and engine light is on. I have multiple codes. One says it is the VCT Sensor (P0012 CODE). Is there any way to know if this will fix the noise on the cold startups or is it my timing chain and phasers?

Do my vehicle has cam phasers or sprockets from what I was told this year truck has sprockets and the the sprockets dont go bad.. I'm confuse I end up changing out the timing belt tensioner, timing chain, and guides the truck ran good for 2 days with no start up rattle.The 3rd day when I started my vehicle I notice that the rattle was back. Is there a certain oil type and filter recommemded for my truck. What else should I look at when it comes to this noise?

Thanks for the video ,I have a question .. My 2011 F-150 with 3.5 when cold makes the same timing chain noise at startup for one second then then smoothe out but every time it makes this noise the check engine light comes on with p0012 and p0014 but I delete them ,, Do you think if I replace these two sensors it would fix the random chain noise at start up ? Most of the time when I start the truck I hear no noise and it drives perfect it’s only when I hear the noise immediately after the light comes on and it drives rough
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos 5 жыл бұрын
First, you have to clean the engine, like I showed in the video. But, it's a good idea to leave it in overnight. I can't stress this enough...MAKE SURE NOT TO START THE ENGINE WITH THE GAS IN IT, YOU MUST DRAIN IT FIRST AND ADD NEW OIL TO IT FIRST. Second, make sure to get a very good oil filter, specially one with an anti back-up valve. Then, get really good oil. Try that, if that doesn't work, damage could have already been done and the timing chain tensioner is damaged.

The one important thing that I stressed in this video, is to NOT start the car. This procedure is intended to remove the sludge built up on the pickup screen, and in the oil pan, and by doing so, you allow the proper amount of oil to circulate in the engine, again, DO NOT START THE VEHICLE!!!!
